Scoring Australian Perfection w/ Molly, Kanoa, Morgan and Italo | WSL Championship Tour

The World’s Go Coast To Coast Down Under

The Australian leg of the WSL Championship Tour scored a little bit of everything this in 2022. From pumping waves at Bells Beach and Winkipop in Victoria to heaving Margaret River and The Box when they ventured to Western Australia, there was no shortage of waves or wild action when the world’s best surfers hit town.

Jordy Smith openings up proceedings in the West before Leo Fioravanti charges out of the gates at heaving Box, supported by an all-star cast; take a bow Kelly Slater, Molly Picklum, Nathan Florence, Jack Robinson, Kolohe Andino, John John Florence, Griffin Colapinto, Ethan Ewing, Imai Devault and Betty Lou Sakura Johnson.

Back over east things get a little more classical as Carissa Moore and Italo Ferreira are unleashed on some beautiful wide-open walls, alongside rookie standout Callum Robson, Zeke Lau, Sally Fitzgibbons, Stephanie Gilmore, Gabriela Bryan, Brisa Hennessy, Luana Silva, Ryan Callinan, Conner Coffin, Morgan Cibilic, Sammy Pupo, Connor O’Leary, and none other than three-time-world-champion-turned-wildcard Mick Fanning.

If you like fresh free-surf action straight out of the WSL oven you’re going to love this tasty treat filmed and edited for you by Scotty Hammonds. Enjoy!

Finals Day Highlights: Jack Robinson Stakes Claim As Best In The West, Nichols' Maiden CT Win

Robinson harnesses the power of his home break to deal Florence's first Margaret River loss since 2016, Nichols takes cutline pressure to the finish line for maiden CT win.

Margaret River is a battle for survival. Raw swells slam the rugged coastline and even the world’s best surfers feel small against the untamed power of Western Australia. This year, adding to it all is the new mid-season cut, which will reduce the Championship Tour competitors by a third to the top 22 men and 10 women. Who will make the cut and continue their hunt for a World Title, and who will leave Margaret River headed for the Challenger Series?

Follow the road to the Rip Curl WSL Finals.

2x World Champ and current World Number 3 John John Florence shows why he hasn't lost a heat at Margaret River since 2016.

Portuguese Perfection w/ Leo, Kanoa, Morgan and Italo | WSL Championship Tour

The world’s best surfers scored pumping waves in the depths of the Portuguese winter while in Peniche for the MEO Pro Portugal, and our man Scotty Hammonds was there to film the best of it. Supertubes lived up to its name in the pre-game, serving up icy Atlantic cylinders for our squad of CT rippers, everyone from Italo Ferreira and Jordy Smith, to Leo Fioravanti, Kanoa Igarashi and Morgan Cibilic. It wasn’t just the Red Bull crew getting stuck into the pits and wedges on offer, with heavy hitters like John John Florence and Jack Robinson joining Aussie underdogs Ethan Ewing and Ryan Callinan in putting on a hard hitting display.

Queen Carissa Moore and Malia Manuel fly the flag for Hawaii, while the Californian connection of Kolohe Andino and eventual contest winner Griffin Colapinto proves once again why they’re deadly when the surf is firing. Press play above to witness the show, and stay tuned for more post-even recaps from every WSL Championship Tour to come in 2022. Enjoy!

Powerful Performances and Big Upsets in Repechage Rounds

The fourth day of competition at the 2021 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games was defined by surprising upsets and powerful surfing through a strong swell at the breaks of La Bocana and El Sunzal.

The Olympic dreams of defending World Champion Sofia Mulanovich (PER) came to an end as she exited the event early in round 3 of Repechage. Mulanovich came up short less than a point, eliminated by Canada’s Paige Alms and Panama’s Enilda Alonso.

Surfing’s Top Talent Shines on Opening Day of Action in Surf City El Salvador

The 2021 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games – Surfing’s final Olympic qualifier – kicked off the competition in spectacular fashion on Sunday at the waves of La Bocana and El Sunzal.

With the men ripping the peaks of La Bocana and the women riding the right point break of El Sunzal, a world-class level of surfing was put on display as the surfers chase their chances at the 12 open slots of Tokyo 2020 (5 for men, 7 for women).

The defending individual Champions, Brazil’s Italo Ferreira and Peru’s Sofia Mulanovich, both started their campaigns off strong. Ferreira surfed with fluidity and style on his way to the highest heat total of the day among all surfers with 16.43 points.

Mulanovich, on the other hand, advanced through her Main Event Round 1 heat in first with 13.16 points.

The top performer on the women’s side of the event was up-and-coming star and 2017 ISA World Junior Champion Alyssa Spencer (USA), who obtained a 16-point heat total.

Catch the event live May 29 - June 6 on isasurf.org.
