King Of The Groms 2026 Final That's right. It's back. Quiksilver's King of the Groms returned after a six-year hiatus, bringing four of the world’s best U18 surfers to the North Shore of Oahu. After more than 120 hopefuls entered via Instagram, Griffin Colapinto and Kauli Vaast narrowed it down to a top four, with the help of some voting from the general public. And so Mananalu Chandler (Hawaii), Brody Mulik (Australia), Kash Brown (Australia), and Dylan Donegan dos Santos (Lanzarote) showed up on the North Shore ready to compete for $10,000. It started off big and messy. It ended up small and clean. And the boys surfed (almost) every type of condition imaginable in between. Over six days, they spent about 23 hours in the water. Griffin Colapinto, Hughie Vaughan and Reef McIntosh watched it all go down, and then decided who was worthy of the crown. The Best Surfing I've Ever Seen: Kolohe Andino, Cola Bros, Ian Crane, Luke Davis in Mentawais (2020) Nate Lawrence has been capturing the world’s best surfers for 25 years. In that time, he’s witnessed a lot — some things he can share, others might land a few people in jail. But when asked what’s the best surfing he’s seen over this quarter-century, Nate narrowed it down to two trips: Japan in 2011 (filming for Dear Suburbia) and a plague-induced empty Mentawais trip in 2020 (filming for Reckless Isolation). Two trips full of 8-hour sessions, god-tier surf, and an elite cast of surfers in their mental, physical, and sexual primes. After pondering a bit, Nate went with the San Clemente crew (Kolohe Andino, Griffin Colapinto, Crosby Colapinto Luke Davis, and Ian Crane) in Indo over Kai Neville’s extraordinary band of misfits (Dane Reynolds, John Florence, Yadin Nicol, Conner Coffin, and Dillon Perillo) in the land of the rising sun.
