Background: Sally Fitzgibbons was a prodigious junior athlete in a number of sports including athletics, soccer, cross-country running and surfing. At age 17 she chose to concentrate on surfing and qualified for the 2009 ASP World Championship Tour. Gained inaugural surf spot at Tokyo 2020/21 Olympics via 2019 WSL Championship Tour.

On the women’s side, Tya Zebrowski tops the leaderboard with 18,630 points, ahead of Sally Fitzgibbons and Yolanda Hopkins, while Nadia Erostarbe, Francesca Veselko, Teresa Bonvalot and Laura Raupp round out the top 7, all jockeying for the seven available Championship Tour spots for 2026.
