Pumping April PIPELINE Continues, GABRIEL MEDINA + ITALO Shredding At Home In Brazil | SURF BREAKS

NORTH SHORE ON THE COOK

Hard to imagine a better place to be quarantined right now than the North Shore. The swells have been pouring in along the Seven Mile Miracle, and the local crew has been scoring. Buddies Nathan Florence and Koa Rothman have been psyching on the best April Pipe conditions since, well, ever ... The other Koa … Koa Smith … has also been in on the action.

TYLER WRIGHT ON SURF OFFS

Earlier this week, WSL CEO Erik Logan unveiled a new vision for how World Champs will be decided starting next year. It's going to go down during a one-day surf-off with the winner take all … and 2x World Champ Tyler Wright is fired up.

WSL REWIND: FRANCE 2014

And while we're on the subject of Tyler Wright this week WSL Rewind is flashing back on the 2014 Roxy Pro France and Wright's near perfect performance in the Final. And don't miss John John Florence's demonstrative performance in the all-time Hossegor conditions as he goes on to take only the second win of his CT career.

SURFRIDER WINS IN SUPREME COURT

And in the good news department, the Maui Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation just won a big decision in the United States Supreme Court. In a 6-3 ruling, the court stood in defense of the Clean Water Act. This is a big win for Maui, and sets precedence for the protection of other coastlines.ITALO TURNS UP THE HEAT AT HOME

Italo Ferreira has been posted up at home in Brasil riding out this crazy storm. And with surfing still permitted in his area, he just dropped a new edit he's calling "Rough Times." Shot in black and white, it showcases the World Champ keeping the vibes up and making the most of the wedges at his local beachbreak.

MEDINA IN BEAST MODE

And from one Brasilian World Champ to another, pre-lockdown Gabriel Medina was in beast mode at home at Maresias. Barrels, full-rotation airs, big power hacks, his surfing is nothing short of mind blowing. And how about that new black spray on those Cabianca surfboards?

JOAN DURU'S COMEBACK

Last September Joan Duru broke his collarbone surfing a Portugal slab called "Crazy Left". Right before the beaches in France were closed, he was well on his way to recovery, back charging crazy double-overhead tubes. And for more from Hossegor, starting on Wednesday WSL Rewind will be dipping into the 2014 Quiksilver and Roxy Pro.

HBD JEREMY FLORES AND ROSY HODGE

And finally, a very happy birthday to a couple of our favorite people, Jeremy Flores and Rosy Hodge. Hope you guys are having a great day.

Volcom Pipe Pro, Connor Coffin's 10, Mark Healey's Waimea Left | SURF BREAKS

COFFIN DROPS A 10-POINTER
The action continued today at the Volcom Pipe Pro, and while we wait for the latest, how about Conner Coffin’s Aloha Friday send yesterday?
On a day full of high scores and heavy action, the Santa Barbara stylist posted the first 10-point ride of the event and his WSL career.
Keep it locked to WorldSurfLeague.com for all the latest from Pipe.

TOM LOWE RIDE OF THE YEAR NOMINEE
There once was a man from Saint Ives…and his name was Tom Lowe.
And his slabbing barrel at Mullaghmore Head has been entered into consideration for the WSL Big Wave Awards.
For more of the world’s best big wave action -- you know where to find it -- WorldSurfLeague.com

VOLCOM PIPE PRO: DAY TWO
It was another classic day at the Volcom Pipe Pro yesterday with clean six- to eight-foot surf bombing through all day.
Local charger Makai McNamara went ham with a pair of 8-point rides and the day's highest heat total.
There's still a lot of surfing left and it looks like the waves are going to just keep pumping.
Keep it locked on WorldSurfLeague.com for all the action.

LAKEY SIGNS WITH SISSTREVOLTION
Lakey Peterson has just announced a new partnership with surf brand Sisstrevolution.
An all-women's surf brand launched a year ago, Sisstrevoltion is making some noise.
After spending 2019 vying for a World Title, Lakey is the biggest name on their growing roster.
Congrats, Lakey! Can't wait to see you guys make some magic this year.

SURF BENDER WITH PARKER COFFIN
After battling all year on the Qualifying Series, Parker Coffin needed some time to just go surfing.
In his latest video drop called "Surf Bender," Coffin puts on a tour de force performance sans jersey.
And how about the soundtrack by Kut U Up...those guys rock!
You can check the full cut on the Coffin brothers' YouTube channel.

GOING LEFT AT WAIMEA BAY
We all know Mark Healey is nuts, but going left at Waimea?
Check out what the lunatic got up to on the last big swell at the Bay...

NAT YOUNG WINS IN MOROCCO
It's always epic to see hard work pay off, and for Santa Cruz's Nat Young it all just came together in Morocco. Winning the first-ever Pro Taghazout Bay in all-time conditions, it was a dream run for Young, who notched a near-perfect 9.67 in the Final to seal the deal against Peru's Alonso Correa.

VOLCOM PIPE PRO PUMPS
Every year the Volcom Pipe Pro seems to be blessed with pumping surf, and once again the Pacific didn't disappoint as action got underway yesterday. With bombs rolling through all day, it was underground Pipe charger Eala Stewart who posted the highest heat score of the day, highlighted by a solid 8.93 ride. And familiar names like Mason Ho, Koa Rothman and Nathan Florence all survived to surf another day. And maybe the best news of all? The surf's going to keep pumping through the weekend. Stay tuned to WorldSurfLeague.com for all the action.

ONE OCEAN: ZEN AND PLASTIC
And finally, plastic pollution is just maddening… But Air Copeland, the Executive Director of The 5 Gyres Institute, has some advice on how you can stay zen in an ocean of plastics.

Kolohe Andino Owns Clips of the Month for March 2019

March stirred a whole lot of variety into the melting pot of "Clips of the Month". Jordy Smith snuck away to East Africa to link beastly carves and barrels, Nathan Florence locked in the most dramatic POV shot we've ever seen at Waimea Bay, Ian Crane got uber-tech on his backhand and oh so much more. But at the end of the day, it was the style and cleanliness of Kolohe's ever-lofty backside grab reverse at San Clemente Pier that undoubtedly marked him the winner for March. Not only was it a stellar move, but the edit itself is filled with incredible surfing and adds some high-end water cinematography from the incredibly talented Pat Stacy (click here to re-watch in its entirety). This edit will be a force to be reckoned with come the 2019 SURFER Awards. But for now, his ender clip will take the cake this month.

Endless Tube Time at Desert Point

Lombok's most famous reef is the stuff of surfing dreams, as this edit shows.
The Lombok Strait separates Bali from Lombok and is the meeting point of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It also houses the Wallace Line, an east-west border that distinguishes Asian and Australian animals. More importantly to surfers, though, its endless currents and masses of moving water have sculpted the world's most perfect reef, which houses arguably the planet's most perfect wave. Welcome to Desert Point.
