World No.2 Joel Parkinson (Aus), wildcard Dane Reynolds (USA) and Brazilian wonderboy Gabriel Medina are facing Round Two elimination, but the Kelly Slater (USA) super-show continued on the opening day of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover.Snapper Rocks turned on a dredging 3-4ft swell on the outgoing tide when the men hit the water following Round One of the Roxy Pro and they didn’t disappoint with a spectacular show.

The Best Surfing I've Ever Seen: Kolohe Andino, Cola Bros, Ian Crane, Luke Davis in Mentawais (2020) Nate Lawrence has been capturing the world’s best surfers for 25 years. In that time, he’s witnessed a lot — some things he can share, others might land a few people in jail. But when asked what’s the best surfing he’s seen over this quarter-century, Nate narrowed it down to two trips: Japan in 2011 (filming for Dear Suburbia) and a plague-induced empty Mentawais trip in 2020 (filming for Reckless Isolation). Two trips full of 8-hour sessions, god-tier surf, and an elite cast of surfers in their mental, physical, and sexual primes. After pondering a bit, Nate went with the San Clemente crew (Kolohe Andino, Griffin Colapinto, Crosby Colapinto Luke Davis, and Ian Crane) in Indo over Kai Neville’s extraordinary band of misfits (Dane Reynolds, John Florence, Yadin Nicol, Conner Coffin, and Dillon Perillo) in the land of the rising sun. Highlights from Day 3 of the BTMI Barbados Surf Pro and Live Like Zander Junior Pro A critical day of proceedings with Challenger Series implications unfolded at Soup Bowl and dismantling performances were on full display. The women finished their Round of 48 affairs before moving into the all-important men's Round of 64.
