What's up

The Best Surfing I've Ever Seen: Kolohe Andino, Cola Bros, Ian Crane, Luke Davis in Mentawais (2020) Nate Lawrence has been capturing the world’s best surfers for 25 years. In that time, he’s witnessed a lot — some things he can share, others might land a few people in jail. But when asked what’s the best surfing he’s seen over this quarter-century, Nate narrowed it down to two trips: Japan in 2011 (filming for Dear Suburbia) and a plague-induced empty Mentawais trip in 2020 (filming for Reckless Isolation). Two trips full of 8-hour sessions, god-tier surf, and an elite cast of surfers in their mental, physical, and sexual primes. After pondering a bit, Nate went with the San Clemente crew (Kolohe Andino, Griffin Colapinto, Crosby Colapinto Luke Davis, and Ian Crane) in Indo over Kai Neville’s extraordinary band of misfits (Dane Reynolds, John Florence, Yadin Nicol, Conner Coffin, and Dillon Perillo) in the land of the rising sun. Eastbound & All Around, Ep. 1: New Smyrna Super Session This fall, Surfline dispatched photographer Billy Watts, former Surfing Magazine editor-turned-Inherent Bummer mastermind, Travis Ferre, and a tight crew of professional surfers led by South Carolina sensation Cam Richards to the southern half of the Eastern Seaboard and even deeper into the Caribbean Islands. RVCA SURF MEXICO RVCA Surf advocates Billy Kemper and Luke Davis find themselves South of the border on a surf trip that we all dream of. For Billy, this was his first surf trip back after a long road of recovery, rehabbing the life-threatening injury he experienced in Africa. His work was rewarded with perfect barrels and empty lineups with one of his closest friends, Luke Davis. The journey never ends when searching for quality surf. While for Billy & Luke, this time the journey led them to Mexico where they simply enjoyed what was in front of them.
