Cloudbreak built throughout the winner-take-all showdown and showed its teeth in the Title Matches when it mattered most. Dora’s insatiable forehand needed just 35 minutes over Griffin Colapinto to finish a remarkable 2025 season before Picklum fought tooth and nail against Caroline Marks, going the distance in a best two-out-of-three Title Match.

Patience paid off and all-time conditions closed out the 2025 Corona Cero Open J-Bay with Connor O’Leary and Gabriela Bryan taking wins for the history books.

O’Leary’s first-ever CT win adds his name to the short, illustrious list of goofyfooters to do so at J-Bay along with Bryan notching a momentous third CT win in 2025 out of four Final appearances. Pumping J-Bay stole the show to leave fans wanting more and closed out proceedings with a 10-point ride, all the dramatics and excellent showings, and sent the world’s best out of South Africa with some incredible memories. Now, the world’s best prepare for the ultimate challenge of Teahupo’o at the Lexus Tahiti Pro Presented by I-SEA starting August 7 through 16.

J BAY "AS GOOD AS IT GETS" AHEAD OF CT - CAN JORDY SMITH DEFEND HIS TURF?!?

The tall, handsome South African who helped smuggle Stab into the U.S. surf scene like a fine bottle of Chablis, Damien “Dooma” Fahrenfort—the velvety voice from Stab High Japan, Channel 51 and How Surfers Get Paid—has been deep in the analytics, trying to forecast the winners of this year’s J-Bay event.

Dooma’s more than a crisp shirt and quick wit. He’s surfed CT heats at both J-Bay and Mundaka (2009), and by his own modest estimation, has won the J-Bay Trials four or five times. We’d fact-check that stat, if only the South African Trials archives weren’t harder to access than the true authors of the Rosetta Stone.

Surfers Not Street Children x O'Neill

Nine talented surfers from ‪@surfersnotstreetchildren6916‬ (SNSC) made the journey to Jeffreys Bay for the South African Championships. SNSC is a Durban-based organization that uses surfing and mentorship, to support and uplift young people.

What started as a street outreach program has grown into a powerful force for change. The week in Jeffreys Bay was filled with valuable lessons, laughter, and good vibes. Having surf legends ‪@JordySmith88‬ and Paul Canning on hand to mentor and support the crew made it all the more meaningful.

We’re proud to stand behind SNSC and can’t wait to see these young surfers continue to grow!
