Dane Reynolds is Two Happy

Britt Merrick worked with Dane Reynolds and Parker Coffin on developing this board. The Two Happy takes all the high-performance speed and flow of the original Happy but makes it more accessible and user-friendly for a broader range of surfers and conditions. With added entry rocker and increased double concave, the Two Happy is looser, rolls rail to rail more easily, and carves better in the pocket. Our team describes the board as exceptionally fast, responsive, and under the feet. The fuller rails and wider, thicker tail block provide ease of paddle, ride, and acceleration. To enjoy all of our state-of-the-art shortboard performance design characteristics packed into one easy-to-ride and accessible board, look no further than the Two Happy—now available at your local surf shop or cisurfboards.com.

Filmers: Jason Blanchard (@miniblanchard) Andrew Schoener (@andrew_schoener)

Meet Lenny: Australia’s Next Big Thing

Lennix Smith is Australia’s hottest up and coming youngster. He lives in Barrack Point, a quaint coastal town on the southern coast of Australia. Lennix charges and has a very well-rounded repertoire for being only 16, as seen in his recent edit “Not Lenny" on @stab.

Lennix currently trains with Matt Griggs, a former professional tour surfer and coach of Mick Fanning. Now in year 11 at school, his main goal is to be on the CT and keep exploring South Australia to get some proper barrels. He now adds his Tweed Pro win to his list of major accomplishments that include 2x Australian Titles and The Occy Grom Comp Champion. We expect we’ll see a lot more great things to come from this rising star in the coming months and years ahead.

Video shot by Ben Bagley from Lago films.

Australia's Jordy Lawler — Baja Trippin'

Narrabeen's favorite son, and Sydney Pro champ, Jordy Lawler, headed over the U.S. Mainland to sharpen up his CI quiver and his surfing a few weeks ahead of the WSL's Challenger Series kick off at the U.S. Open. After spending some time at our factory working on his comp quiver with Britt, he headed south of the border to test ride and then pick out his favorites for the Series. The work on his boards and his surfing appears to have paid off, as seen by his 5th place finish in Portugal. We're excited to see how he goes in France, and hoping he lands himself a spot on the CT for next Season. Jordy is mostly riding his Two Happy model as well as the OG Flyer.

Mikey February Twin Pin Indo Sessions - V.1

Mikey February recently took a few his new Twin Pins over to quiet Indonesian reef pass in Indonesia to experience a range of conditions. In this video you can hear Mikey's insights about how the Twin Pin all came together between him and Britt Merrick, as well as his sizing recommendations.

The new Twin Pin model is now available, stocked in a few select color deck laminations—as well as clear—which you can find at a surf shop near you or on

CI GROM COMP

We had so much fun putting on the recent Grom Comp as part of our first CI Surfboards Rider Session team gathering of 2021. CI Team Riders and top prospects (ages 8 to 17) not only enjoyed a beautiful day of competing against their peers, they were treated to an epic BBQ, words of wisdom by Britt, as well as some super valuable coaching by Chris Keet.

CI’s future champs start with the youth, and through these next generations we believe they’ll help guide the level of surfing we see in the years to come.

Lookin forward to the next one!

Two Happy in Bali

CI's Bali Boys were looking way Two Happy on a recent little weekend trip away from their home breaks. Head over to CI Surfboards YouTube to see them going ham on a dreamy lil' high performance wave that got us all pretty psyched here in our Carpinteria factory. They all tell us the Two Happy is blowing their minds—an incredible well rounded performance board.

Surfers are @ryukiwaida @_kianmartin @ketutagus_ and this edit is via @lem_ontrees / filmed by @bretoncarasso

You can find Two Happy at your local surf shop or learn more here at

Our team describes the board as exceptionally fast, responsive, and under the feet. The fuller rails and wider, thicker tail block provide ease of paddle, ride, and acceleration.

Channel Islands "Upright" Fin

The new CI Upright came from a need to balance the CI fin offering. Where the original, highly raked CI fin is more suited to classic down-the-line thrust and drawn out turns, the reality is, most surfers are riding smaller waves and beach breaks that require quicker turns, and a fin that allows for more pivot.

“You’ll find the CI Upright will help you in smaller waves and steep, quick waves, any time where you need quickness of response and the ease of top to bottom transitions”. – Britt Merrick

Where the original CI fin is suited to bigger, better open face waves, the CI Upright has a high rate of return and responsiveness, which means it’s ideal for beach breaks and little waves where need to generate speed quickly.

“The CI Upright will lend itself to any board, but given the lower sweep, it will really suit grovellers and small wave boards where you need a little more get up and go” – Brit Merrick

Australian Young Gun: Jarvis Earle

Cronulla, Australia is known for turning out some of the world’s finest surfers over the past several decades, and it’s looking like 15-year-old Jarvis Earle is soon to join those ranks. He's made a name for himself on the Australian junior series, starred in the inaugural Stab Innocents trip and is working closely with Julian Wilson to help him achieve his goal of being on the CT one day. This vibey little edit was made with the help of his other 15-year-old mates Barli Doyle & Jack Bury. Jarvis is riding the Fever shape from our Grom Series: 5’6.5" 1/2 x 18" x 2”. You can learn more about our Grom Series boards through your local surf shop or over at www.cisurfboards.com

Our Favorite Air Board: NeckBeard 2 x Parker Coffin

Like nearly everyone on our pro team, Parker Coffin's go-to board for airs—and in particular for wave parks like Waco—is the NeckBeard 2. Parker's dims here are 5’6 x 19 x 2 5/16. He leans toward Spine-Tek most times because he likes the pop for airs and he flex through turns, but says he also loves the familiar feel of PU.

Filmed by Ryan Perry
