Mystic Sk8 Cup 2022 - street

Unfortunately, the three days of the skate festival flew by again, and the final day of the 27th Mystic Sk8 Cup is behind us, which brought such skating that the tricks will keep our heads spinning for a long time to come! You can recall street bombs in our video. //

Skateboarding Around The World | Best Of Red Bull Skateboarding 2021

2021 was a big year for all of us here at Red Bull Skateboarding: from the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the palm trees of Brazilian backyard bowl bonanzas, our signature live experiences returned for those lucky enough to attend in the flesh- and broadcast live around the planet for anyone else to savour from the comfort of our own homes.

Elsewhere in skateboarding’s biggest year ever, we went street level in some of the world’s most iconic cities: from meeting the locals in Philadelphia, to shredding unseen Shanghai, to spot-hunting in a near-deserted Prague.

Our intrepid travel series Skate Escape saw the first pro skate tour of Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo, while half a world away in the Philippines our girl Margie Didal showed us how necessity can be the mother of invention as she gave us a sneaky peek at her new personal indoor training spot.

One of the biggest skate projects undertaken in 2021 was of course TJ Rogers’ epic love letter to the Canadian skate scenes of his youth, Steady Pushing. His gargantuan road odyssey across Canada capped a year which saw his effervescent disposition and ageless ability on a skateboard put TJ close to the top of everyone’s favourite skater lists.

While the eyes of the world turned to skateboarding’s debut in Tokyo last summer, we continued as ever throughout the year to support, promote and document the wilder shores of skateboarding culture which flourish both within and without the spotlight. This, then, is a sampler of some of the fun Red Bull Skateboarding had in 2021. Hope to see you out there in 2022, and beyond!

Lost in Shanghai w/ Angelo Caro, Max Habanec and Vladik Scholz | SKATE INTERSECTION

The Chinese port city of Shanghai has sparked Western imaginations for centuries. Wildly evocative of adventure and international intrigue, the city has been the secondary star of many movies which have used her alleyways and skylines as a majestic backdrop to everything from Hollywood romances to martial arts blockbusters.

As an international trading hub, Shanghai’s postwar building project has seen the municipality become one of the world’s most populous cities, replete with suburbs and satellite towns which run the gamut of architectural modes from Art Deco to Soviet neoclassical and most points in between.
With Barcelona unofficially regarded as Blown Out in filming terms by 2004 (post- Yeah Right!), Shanghai rapidly became a go-to destination for any sponsored skater who wanted to log footage on spots that didn’t look the same as every other video.

What many of those footage-conscious skaters weren't aware of, however, is the existence within Shanghai of several design districts which are intended to pay homage to various world capitals.
We set out to explore them in an international skate mission to reflect Shanghai’s status as one of the world’s most enigmatic and distinctive destinations.

Linking up with two expat rippers in England’s Dan Wileman and America’s Chris Blake came Czech road warrior Maxim Habanec, Germany’s widely- regarded style supremo Vladik Scholz and the terrifyingly talented Peruvian upsetter Angelo Caro, currently in the skating form of his life (check out the kicker to bench two-piece line here!).

Entrusted to film the whole experience was Belgium’s superb Stijn Lammertyn, and with veteran Argentinian photographer Gaston Francisco holding it down on photography and vibes, most contingencies seemed covered for a productive, enlightening alternative view of one of the world’s mega-cities, as seen from a skater’s perspective. Stijn knocked it out of the park on this one.

Max Habanec in the streets of Prague | Raw Edit

Czech ruler Maxim Habanec and his wingman Honza Navrátil spent the lockdown months of 2021 on a filming mission throughout the quiet streets of Prague.

The results of their battles with the occasionally unforgiving surfaces of this ancient city became a new, shared part which saw them take on some treacherously kinked (and hitherto untouched) handrails in a city most skaters only associate with Stalin Plaza and Mystic skatepark.

This raw edit from the rugged terrain of the Czech capital and beyond celebrates the heart required to go out and break yourself off when nobody is making you.

Max is making himself synonymous with the skate lore of one of the world’s most famous cities, and he is bringing Honza Navrátil along for the ride.

Enjoy a side of Prague you never see!

A nadupaná neděle před námi. Do té postupuje třicítka ze streetu, dvanáct top z bowlu a vše začne po deváté ráno kategoriem U9 a U14.

The first race of a busy weekend is over! The only ČSP (Czech Skate Cup) race took place at Štvanice this year, and in the article below you will find who is advancing to Sunday's Championship!

Over fifty riders found their way on Saturday 3.10 to Prague's Štvanice, where everything was adapted to the current situation. The riders are separated from the spectators, they have their own entrance, their own corridors, their own catering and the first thing you will encounter at the entrance is the temperature measurement. Of course, there is the obligation to wear a face covering and use disinfectant available. This are the measures issued by the Czech Skateboarding Association at the skatepark in cooperation with Mystic Skatepark Štvanice. None of this, however, affected the quality of skateboarding in any way. Kiko Nguyen became the hero of the day with his last trick that lifted everyone at Štvanice from their chairs. Park category was dominated by David Záhumenský aka Záhul, who was responsible for perhaps the highest air in the history of the Czech Republic. The final highlight of the day was BEKO best trick: jump over a washing machine located in the skatepark with the main prize in the form of BEKO dryer and mixer which went to Maxim Habanec and Martin Pek. And all with online scoring, which you can watch on liveheats.com, with the support of the connection provider, Cetin. Plus other partners such as Samosebou.cz, Ambassadors, Etnies & Volcom - and that's it for the awesome Saturday event! And an action-packed Sunday ahead of us. Thirty from street and twelve from bowl category advance to it, and everything starts after nine in the morning with the U9 and U14 categories.

EIGHT MUST WATCH STILL TRICK VIDEOS

April 27, 2020 By Oswaldo Sanchez

The #stilltrickchallenge has been around for quite some time now. Enough time to build up close to 15,000 posts on Instagram. So, you might have seen your friends or other people attempting to replicate your favorite pro skaters pop chest-high flip tricks on flat while standing relatively still. There have been a few changes, and different varieties since the first still trick posted, but they all show how much control skaters have over their skateboard. Scroll down below to view eight still trick videos that blew our minds from the past month.

Explore The Mean Streets Of Paraguay w/ Tyler Surrey & Crew | HEARTBEATS TO HEAVEN TOUR Part 2

Having said goodbye to the local skaters of the Paraguayan capital Asunción, our intrepid skateboard squadron of Tyler Surrey, Giovanni Vianna, Max Habanec and Angelo Caro hit the road once again towards the city of Ciudad del Este on the Paraguayan side of the country’s triple border with both Brazil and Argentina.

We did a lot of driving around, but we couldn't really find many spots. The city was bustling with activity; people were selling and buying stuff everywhere and like everywhere else in Paraguay, the ground was super-rough.

Join us in Part Two as we explore the Paraguayan city Ciudad del Este and even cross the border into Brazil!

Skate Paraguay with Angelo Caro, Tyler Surrey & Crew | HEARTBEATS TO HEAVEN TOUR Part 1

Paraguay isn't the most conventional destination to go on a skate tour. Located in the heart of South America, this small but welcoming country of around seven million people experienced its first ever pro skate tour recently, when for 12 days a crew consisting of Angelo Caro, Maxim Habanec, Tyler Surrey and Giovanni Vianna touched down to meet the local skaters who've created their own tiny, but ripping, skate-scene. Check out Part One above and join us on Part Two of the Heartbeats To Heaven tour coming soon!
