X Games and Exposure teamed up again for the world’s largest women’s skateboarding event in Encinitas, CA - Exposure Skate 2025! From jaw-dropping vert runs to powerful street sessions and inspiring community moments, the next generation of skaters showed what progression looks like.

Exposure Skate is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and girls through skateboarding and teaching compassion through service. They offer a range of classes, camps, retreats, college scholarships and events for all ages which incorporate social and emotional learning through skateboarding, mindfulness and community service. Exposure’s unique programming creates an outlet for women, girls and nonbinary individuals to build confidence, community, education and healthy mental and physical well-being.

How medal event is judged:
Playoffs: 1 heat of 8 athletes with 2 runs each (0:30 seconds maximum per run), best run counts. Runs will be scored 1-100. Athletes ranked 1-4 will advance to the final.
Finals: Athlete scores are reset to zero after playoffs. 1 heat of 4 athletes with 2 runs each (0:30 seconds maximum per run), best run counts. Runs will be scored 1-100.

Vert is a style of skateboarding that involves performing tricks on a large U-shaped ramp called a halfpipe or vert ramp. The rider gains speed by pumping up and down the ramp, building momentum for aerial maneuvers that can reach heights exceeding 10 feet. Skaters perform a variety of tricks, including spins, flips and grabs, while soaring through the air above the ramp. Skateboard vert requires a combination of speed, agility and courage, as riders must maintain control while executing complex aerial maneuvers at high speeds. In contests, skaters perform a series of tricks, with judges awarding points based on the difficulty, execution and overall style.

In this episode of Road Dawgs, we pulled up to Exposure Skate 2024 in Encinitas, California to cover and showcase some of the best women's and non-binary skateboarders in the industry compete in vert, bowl and street skateboarding competitions! This event brought together top athletes, rising stars, skateboarding legends and fans to celebrate the rise of women’s skateboarding and foster a more inclusive skateboarding community. This is truly an incredible event to witness, so watch along to see what went down!

Tony Hawk's Vert Alert Full Weekend Recap

The “Utah Sports Commission presents Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert: Road to X Games” is a FREE two-day vert skateboarding competition and Legends Demo which attracts the best vert skateboarders from around the world, past and present. This year’s event is at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. Back again this year is the chance to qualify to X Games California 2024. Watch the video for this year’s new qualifying format in partnership with Skatepark of Tampa.
