In late September 2021, the tube riding enthusiast made the most of stunning late-season swell at Desert Point's "The Grower." The remote spot located at West Lombok, in Indonesia, produces perfect-peeling left-hand blue barrels. Gubbins, 41, found waves many of us never found or surfed in decades. Jonathan Gubbins Ruling Desert Point Lombok and Jonathan Gubbins are a perfect pairing. After some of the best waves in years blitzed Desert Point last month, and it still somehow remained the least crowded it's been in 20 years. Jonathan was there to greet the swell with open arms, and we're pretty sure we can't recall an edit where someone has gotten more barreled in three minutes.
