The most famous mascot in the snowboarding world, The Black Yeti, will arrive in Modena, Italy, for the first edition of the World Rookie Rail Jam by Skipass. A new World Rookie Tour contest that will take place during the Tourism and Winter Sports Fair at ModenaFiere, from 29th to 30th October 2016.

The 2016 SLS Nike SB World Tour in New Jersey is a wrap! Nyjah Huston won his 17th SLS stop today at Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center, ending his six-stop streak without a first place finish, and Chris Joslin qualified for the 2016 SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship.

Kelly Slater (USA) has won the Billabong Pro Tahiti after defeating John John Florence (HAW) in the Final in eight-to-ten foot surf at Teahupo’o. The final day of competition at Stop No. 7 of 11 on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) has been treated to incredible performances by the world’s best surfers, culminating with Slater’s win. The Final day saw 35 barrels ridden between the two finalists.

The 2016 Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Banzai Bowls regional qualifying season has come to an end, as the fourth and final stop wrapped up over the weekend at Jennette’s Pier, Nags Head, NC. With contestable conditions being a major concern, a surprising waist-to-chest high swell greeted competitors with glassy conditions all day long as clean peaks were offered on a legit Outer Banks sand bar.

After eight days of world-class Surfing competition at the 2016 INS ISA World Surfing Games in Playa Jacó, Costa Rica, Team Peru has emerged victorious and earned the Team Gold Medal and coveted Fernando Aguerre World Team Trophy.

Thredbo Resort, with thanks to Burton Snowboards, hosted a new kind of rail contest, Jye’s Jam. It’s not every day that a ski resort lets you take over for a night and run an urban rail comp, so we had a good feeling about this one.

Surfing and Skateboarding have gained Olympic inclusion and therefore will make their debut at the 2020 Olympic Games to take place in Tokyo from July 24 to August 9. It has been decided yesterday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Rio de Janeiro for these two sports, along with sport climbing, karate and baseball/softball, to be added to the Olympic program.

In an event dominated by the international invitees, Mega Semadhi was the lone local Indonesian surfer to reach the final of the 2016 Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang. But when the final horn sounded, it was Mega who came out on top, claiming his second title in the past three times the Ultimate Tuberiding Contest has been held.

Tatiana Weston-Webb (HAW) claimed victory today at the Vans US Open of Surfing in front of a capacity crowd on the Southside of the Huntington Beach Pier in three-to-five foot (1 - 1.5 meter) waves as she prevailed at Stop No. 6 of 10 on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT).

Luis Diaz (CNY) and Caroline Marks (USA) have won the World Surf League (WSL) Vans US Open of Surfing Pro Junior in two-to-four foot (0.5 - 1.5 meter) conditions at the Huntington Beach Pier.

The Black Yeti announced the final stop for its new season: Volkl Rookie Finals in Ischgl will take place from the 4th to the 9th of April 2017. The next season is going to be bigger than ever. Tour stops have been confirmed in Chile, Australia and Italy, some of which are new to the World Rookie Tour.
