At the 139th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session today, held in Beijing, China, Surfing was approved to be included on the Initial Sports Program for LA28. Following a vote of the IOC Membership, Surfing is now integrated into the group of 28 Olympic sports.

Two of New Zealand’s most celebrated surfers head to the 2022 National Surfing Championships targeting two distinctly different goals this year. Raglan’s Billy Stairmand goes on the hunt to break his own record of eight titles. On the flipside, New Zealand’s most successful surfer, Taranaki’s Paige Hareb, a seven-time World Tour veteran, goes on the hunt for her first.

The World Surf League (WSL) North America region announced today its California events set to continue Qualifying Series (QS) competition for the 2021/22' season. Regional events will also make their way to the East Coast and Caribbean to finalize the 2022 Challenger Series contenders.
