What a season kick-off at Betterpark Hochzillertal! More than one hundred riders gathered in the Zillertal on December 17th and 18th to herald the start of the snowpark season with the second Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards tourstop in the first holiday region of the Zillertal. Beside freebie freestyle coachings, also avalanche safety workshops were on top of the agenda for the popular snowboard amateur series. In the freestyle competition, snowboarders from all over Europe were pushing the limits far beyond amateur levels.
Michel Bourez (PYF) has won the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons, the final stop on the 2016 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) after defeating Kanoa Igarashi (USA) in the Final.

Dlamini Dlamini owned the day when Red Bull Unlocked returned to where it all started at Moses Mabhida Stadium, on Sunday 18 December. The Durbanite was a stand-out from the get-out in this, the fourth edition of the event. The event – which in the past was all about 'unlocking a venue' this year featured something of a different format, with the focus being on which rider could 'unlock their creativity' to put together the best line.

The Girls Shred Sessions enter their 5th season and you can bet it’s going to be a blast because – well is there anything cooler than shredding the park with dozens of like-minded girls? This winter a pepped schedule is waiting for you: teamed up with a bunch of shred sisters you will conquer 5 different parks where you’ll stomp plenty of newly learned moves into the snow with a little help from professional coaches. Defining Park Terrain Skateboarding Event Series and World Championship Point System Expands for 2017. Vans Park Series, the official International Skateboarding Federation (ISF) World Championship park terrain skateboarding World Tour, builds upon an historic inaugural season with an additional 2017 World Tour stop and the establishment of the first-ever official park terrain skateboarding Continental Championship events for Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europa and Oceania.
Nine years after his first title, Brazilian Phil Rajzman has won the 2016 Jeep World Longboard Championship presented by Wanning. Rajzman overcame Steven Sawyer in the Final, which was held in 3-5 foot waves at the left hand point break of Riyue Bay.

Californian Tory Gilkerson has taken out the 2016 Jeep Women’s World Longboard Championship presented by Wanning at the pristine left point of Riyue Bay on the Chinese Island of Hainan. Gilkerson came up against Brazilian longboarding prodigy Chloe Calmon in the Final.

The entrance to the Snowpark Schöneben lies at about 2.340m above sea level – and based on our experience we’ll be getting heaps of snow and plenty of sunny hours at this altitude. As an encore the stunning panoramic view is free! Not only will the park be in perfect shape once again, but it will also feature an entirely new park area. In addition to the renowned QParks Tour Stop, a completely new event will take place this season - the “Shred Poker”! Plus, we will shoot a video report, which will offer an exciting insight into our shape crew’s work.

The two Norwegians Hanne Eilertsen and Markus Olimstad are the proud winners of the Pleasure Jam taking place last Sunday, November 20, for the 14th time on the Dachstein glacier. The two multi obstacles gave the contestants plenty of opportunities for an action-packed jib battle and visitors of the Schladming-Dachstein region witnessed terrific tricks paired with healthy doses of sunshine. Hanne Eilertsen took it all, meaning she also scored the Best Trick Award powered by PortugalSurfCamp, worth 8,000 USD. Her compatriot, Isak Ulstein, reigned supreme in the category Best Trick Men.

Dashawn Jordan won the 2016 Tampa Am contest with a score of 92 for his third run. Jordan was the top qualifier going into the Finals and carried over his momentum from the Semis. In his final run, he landed all the tricks he’d been doing all day long, but with the style and flair that defines a Tampa Am winning run.
