Tuesday, October 16, 2018
From the 1st to the 4th of November the snowboard and freeski World Champions and Olympic medallists will compete in Modena for the second stop of the FIS World Cup Big Air.

We’re just a few weeks away from one of the highlight events of the FIS Snowboard and FIS Freeski seasons, with ModenaFiera ready to host the second stop of the 2018/19 FIS big air World Cup tour during the Skipass winter sport and tourism fair in Modena (ITA) from November 3-4.

The massive 46 meter tall and 130 meter long big air jump, the biggest ever built in Italy, is currently under construction in Modena. During the 25th edition of Skipass - one of the most important snow sport events in Italy - the best snowboarders and freeskiers of the world will compete and have the opportunity to win a piece of the 100.000CHF prize money available.

FIS Snowboard World Cup competition will take place on November 3, with FIS Freeski World Cup competition the following day, on November 4.

This year Skipass will see the presence in competition of World Cup crystal globe winners, world champions, and Olympic medallists, such us the Italian freeskier Silvia Bertagna (the 2018 FIS Freeski World Cup big air crystal globe winner and the captain of the Italian freeski team), Norwegian Christian Nummedal (the 2018 FIS Freeski World Cup big air crystal globe winner), American Chris Corning (two-time world championship medalist and 2018 FIS Snowboard World Cup big air crystal globe winner) and Olympic medallists as Redmond Gerard and Kyle Mack.

Also to watch out for will be athletes like Austrian snowboard star Anna Gasser (big air gold medalist at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and Sierra Nevada 2017 big air world champion), US rider Jamie Anderson (slopestyle gold medallist and big air silver medallist at PyeongChang 2018) and other top competitors such as the Norwegian snowboard duo of Silje Norendal and Marcus Kleveland.

With so many elite athletes confirmed for entry, huge prize money up for grabs, and an incredible competition venue in place, the Modena Skipass big air World Cup is set to be a must-watch competition this November.
