EP6 Normalising Wipeouts | NRMA Insurance Helping Groms Feel Safe and Confident in the Ocean Welcome to the NRMA Insurance Helping Groms Series! Coach Ziggy is here to guide NRMA Insurance SurfGroms through their learn-to-surf journey, helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to have fun in the ocean. With the help from Surfing Australia's Sports Physiologist Jason Patchell, Coach Ziggy and Coach Patchy are here to help understand that wipeouts are a normal part of learning to surf. Falling off your board happens to everyone, and it’s a key part of building skills, confidence, and a positive relationship with the ocean. In Episode 6, Groms learn practical tips on how to handle wipeouts. This includes reassuring and reconnecting after a fall, offering choice and taking a break to let them feel in control, and easing back into the water slowly while celebrating bravery. By supporting Groms through each step, they learn to manage risks, build confidence, and enjoy the ocean safely. Surf smart, celebrate every attempt, and remember that every wipeout is just part of the journey to becoming a confident surfer.

2026 NRMA Insurance Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final Trailer Welcome to the big dance: The 2026 NRMA Insurance Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final. Australia’s biggest and most exciting grassroots surfing event. Across two action-packed months, more than 80 of the nation’s top boardrider clubs went head-to-head through eight state qualifying rounds at some of Australia’s most iconic beaches, all chasing a spot in the 2026 NRMA Insurance Australian Boardriders Battle Grand Final. Now, on 7–8 March 2026, 42 qualified clubs will converge on Burleigh Heads to battle for national glory. Only one will be crowned the Series 13 Champion and earn the title of Australia’s best boardrider club.
