Beyond What's Possible | Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge WSL Big Wave is back at the sport’s most iconic location – Nazaré – for the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge. The sport of big wave surfing is not for the faint of heart–it’s a dedicated pursuit to which athletes from around the world have quite literally dedicated their lives. The colossal swells seen at Nazaré demand year-round conditioning, rigorous training, and mental fortitude. When the swell is called on, athletes will be ready to redefine the limits of big wave surfing while inspiring the world with their unmatched tenacity. This year’s format is a one-day, tow-in specialty teams event. The World Surf League Big Wave season opens November 1 and runs through March 31, 2026; watch on worldsurfleague.com.
