Highlights: Highlights: Men's Park Qualifier | Rockstar Energy Open Portland 2024

It wouldn't be the Pacific NorthWest without a bit of rain. But that didn't dampen the mood of the park skateboarders as they waited for the moment we were all waiting for, and the show that ensued did not disappoint. A total of 18 park skateboarders dropped in, each taking their own unique angle at the curvatures, extensions, and out-of-bounce opportunities. Vans Pro Skate Park Series Floripa, Brazil Qualifier Highlights

The Vans Pro Skate Park Series second stop of 2016 was in one of the hottest skate scenes in the world; Floripa, Brazil. The weekend included a mix of PS Select Pro's, Global Challengers that traveled to Floripa, and Local Challengers. It was a heavy contest, but local ripper Pedro Barros took first, with up and comer Ivan Federico second, and Park Series Select Pro Kevin Kowalski third. Experimental Session at the T.F.

Skateboarding in some forms is definitely a sport. Big Contests like the X Games, and Street League have insured that some basic principals of sport are used to judge a very individualized set of Skate skills. In order to be one of the top Competitive Skaters or just the best Skater you can be, you’ve got to put in the hours.

Training Facilities are pretty commonplace in the Skate World right now and years ago Monster Energy Skater Danny Way influenced and co-designed one of the most ground breaking Vert Ramps in Skate History, “The DC Ramp”. Competitions, Training, Sports...All of those things are great but at the end of a good session what you really remember is how many of your buddies were there and what tricks went down.

Vans Pro Skate Park Series Melbourne Qualifier Highlights

Chris Russell (USA) claims victory at the inaugural Vans Park Series at St Kilda Skatepark, Melbourne, Australia.
Russell scored a massive 89.67pts to clinch the win, followed by Brazillian Pedro Barros with 84.67. Kevin Kowalski came in third with a top run of 83.03.

3rd – Kevin Kowalski
4th – Cory Juneau
5th – Ben Hatchell
