OBSIDIAN - Backcountry Freestyle!

The Obsidian Backcountry Freestyle challenge was the third and final event for the 2023 Obsidian. We saw the athletes bringing their freestyle skills to the impressive heli accessed terrain of New Zealand's Southern Alps. We saw different tactical approaches from all the teams, but one thing's for sure - the level of riding was insane...check it out!

The Obsidian Park challenge saw athletes spectacularly shine in the custom built rail garden at Cardrona Alpine Resort. The level of riding was insane, with the international competitors throwing down technical tricks that oozed style and creativity. What a pleasure for the eyeballs 👀

OBSIDIAN - Big Air!

Watch the first Obsidian episode here!! The Obsidian Big Air saw four international teams battle it out on the first challenge, at the massive Big Air venue on Cardrona Alpine Resort.

Obsidian is an exciting event which aims to think outside the box of traditional competition encouraging collaboration and creativity, along with a hefty dose of competitiveness!

The event is made up of three Challenges: Big Air, Park Challenge, and Backcountry Freestyle. Each challenge is contested by four teams: Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. With 31 of the best riders in the world, split across four teams, the level of riding was out of this world.
