Watch the Monster Energy Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe highlights from X Games Aspen 2025!

The X Games SuperPipe is approximately 567 feet long and 66 feet wide, with 22-foot walls. Snowboarders link tricks from wall to wall, attempting to get the most amplitude and maintain flow between tricks. In the men's and women’s finals, each rider will have three runs to link their best tricks.

SuperPipe is judged on progression, execution, difficulty, variety and amplitude.

Rules at Glance:
Playoffs: 1 heat of 8 riders, 2 runs each. The top 4 riders will get 2 more runs, with the best attempt counting as their score.
Final: 1 Heat of 4, 2 runs each, riders best single score wins.

We asked Method Mag to come on-site and showcase what's really happening at the Swatch Nines!

"We were asked to come to the Swatch Nines and report whatever snowboard related action was going on there in the lovely resort of Schilthorn. And what a crazy week it was! The weather kept us down in the village at first, so we improvised a little street session with Simon Gschaider and the hotel golf cart. A pretty unusual start for an event like this... But soon enough we got to go up and see the crazy set-up and the insane riding that went along with it. We even witnessed a couple world records for highest air on what they called a "perfect hip". It was more like a "giant hip" to us, but hey, they're the professional designers, not us. After a couple parties here and there, a quick visit to the James Bond museum (apparently the worst James Bond movie ever made), a nice dinner in a spinning restaurant at the top of the mountain, Chaeun's birthday, some epic snowboarding under a burning sun and maybe the rowdiest Field Report we did so far, we went home with some nice souvenirs and full SD cards. Thus, this edit."

The 2022/23 FIS Snowboard halfpipe World Cup season is set to come to a close this Friday at the Calgary Snow Rodeo, where the world’s best will square off one more time to see who walks away with this winter’s halfpipe crystal globes.

The Calgary Snow Rodeo is the penultimate event in this season’s Shred the North series of Canadian competitions, as Canada looks to become the only nation in World Cup history to host five of the six main FIS Snowboard World Cup events in one season.

2023 Laax Open Halfpipe Highlights

Laax is home to the most progressive snowparks in Europe and it’s no surprise that it houses the world’s longest competition halfpipe. At 21m wide, with 7m-high walls, this icy arena was built to boost riders to record-setting heights and push the limits of the sport.

1st woman from 🇪🇸 to win a Winter Olympics medal in 30 years!

Spanish snowboarder Queralt Castellet won silver in the women's halfpipe at Tokyo 2020, becoming the first female athlete from Spain to win a Winter Olympics medal in 30 years. Castellet hit back-to-back 900s on her second run, posting a 90.25. Olympic gold medallist Chloe Kim posted a 94, while Japan’s Sena Tomita came in third with a 88.25.

Beijing 2022 has been Castellet’s fifth Olympic Games. Previously, she finished 11th in 2014 at the Sochi Olympics and seventh in 2018 at the PyeongChang Olympics.

With the silver, Castellet is now the most decorated Spanish snowboarder and winter athlete in the country’s history.
