Copenhagen Open 2025 – Chaos At The MEGA Finals (Day 4)

The last day of CPH Open 2025 dropped straight into the heart of Copenhagen at Rådhuspladsen — full sun, full crowd, full chaos.

55 skaters deep. No warmups. No chill. Just pure finals carnage featuring heavy hitters like Felipe Nunes, Mason Silva, Tiago Lemos, Filipe Mota, Gavin Bottger, Shane O'Neill, Rayssa Leal, Jamie Foy, Grant Taylor, Oski, Evan Mock and more.

Everyone came swinging, but only six made it to the top — and one walked away with the crown. After the dust settled, the crew threw down one last time in a head-to-head death race that felt more like Mario Kart with concrete.

148 contestants from all over the world came to Paris for this years Far 'n' high contest. A contest that has been going on for more than 17 years and every year the level of skating seems to exceed the previous one. A crazy Best Trick session and a finals full of bangers. STOMPING GROUNDS - KEET OLDENBEUVING & BYST ACADEMY

If the World Skateboarding Tour brings together skateboarders of the world in a kind of circular flowering, then those roots stretch out like spokes from the WST hub to a whole lot of very different backgrounds from which each of our skateboarders came.

In this new series, we will follow individual skaters from the World Skateboarding Tour back to their home stomping grounds to see not just where they come from but the scenes from which they come to join the Tour.

Our first episode focuses on the charismatic twenty-year-old Dutchwoman Keet Oldenbeuving from Utrecht in the Netherlands. From dragging a grind rail out the front of her house to featuring in video parts for Nike and Santa Cruz Skateboards, Keet has already managed to strike a sponsorship balance few achieve in this day and age.

Currently lying 21st in the WSR, she is one of two Dutch skateboarders among the top 5 Europeans in Women’s Street- and there is a very good reason for that.

Dutch skateboarding, like neighbouring Belgium, relies on indoor skateparks to keep continuity running through their scenes purely because they get a lot of rain. The Netherlands have loads of great indoor skateparks- Park Amsterdam, Area 51 in Eindhoven, Venlo, Ladybird in Tilburg, World Skate Center in Den Bosch among them.

Each of them supports not only their own local scene, but visitors from around the country too- because here is the great thing about the Dutch skateboarding scene. They actually support and promote indoor skateparks as good things, while other nations pull faces about what constitutes legitimacy in skateboarding.

Big ups to Flatspot Magazine in that regard.

So in the Netherlands, the local and national skate scenes get a good mixing through those indoor parks which allow their scene to flourish and grow in terms of participation. Individual parks become scene hubs themselves, and nowhere is this more true than the World Skate Center in Den Bosch just an hour’s journey from Keet’s Utrecht hometown.

This state of the art indoor skatepark and events space not only allows Keet to keep pace with competitors from the lands of near year-round sunshine, but also allows her to inspire the new generation as a coach of the Bright Youth Skateboard Talents (BYST) Academy who host European Skatecamps there.

We followed Keet for a day of coaching at the park she helped design to learn not only how her WST experience feeds back into youth coaching, but what also makes the Dutch skate scene one of Europe’s raddest.

European Vans Shop Riot 2025 Finals in Greece

Relive the action from this year's Vans Shop Riot European Finals, held in the historic city of Athens, Greece! The top skate shops from across Europe gathered to battle it out in a two-day event packed with unique challenges, including a contest at an outdoor skatepark painted with iconic Vans checkers, a Dobby Best Trick, and so much more. Vans provided transport, food, and lodging for all the participants, making it another unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to Vans for having us along on this incredible journey!

Nederlands Kampioenschap Skateboarden 2024

Spot to Spot: Keet Oldenbeuving's Path to Globetrotting and Street Skateboarding

Lighthearted, goofy and incredible on a skateboard; two-time Olympian, Keet Oldenbeuving took us Spot to Spot from parks to the streets in California. Keet (pronounced like kAte) talks a bit about her perspective on competitive skateboarding as well as what qualities in skaters inspire her. Spoiler Alert: she appreciates anti-conformity. Hear Keet talk about the route she found from her home in the Netherlands, around Europe and now the rest of the world. According to Keet, she has always viewed contest skateboarding as the ultimate ticket to find freedom down the road to film in coveted streets of California. It seems to have worked out according to plan.
