The world’s best freeriders delivered a masterclass today at the YETI Xtreme Verbier, wrapping up an unforgettable FWT by Peak Performance season. This famous face is littered with a maze of technical features and serious cliff bands. Consistent powder lined the face – offering near-perfect snow conditions – but some high clouds hindered visibility at times. That didn’t stop the world’s best freeriders from lighting up Verbier, delivering memorable performances in the final event on the 2024 FWT calendar.

Spicy lines and huge tricks dominate the second-to-last event of the 2024 FWT by Peak Performance

The first event of the FWT Finals kicked off today on the Wildseeloder while Fieberbrunn celebrates its 20th anniversary of hosting freeride competitions, 15 of those for the FWT. Despite the challenging weather and snow conditions in the days leading up to the event, riders encountered a dense snowpack at the top of the venue and trickier snow with playful features near the bottom. This lead to an unforgettable performance in all categories.

The two-run format added excitement, giving riders two chances to deliver their best run. This led to a memorable show with big lines and huge jumps over the playful features of the face.

Extended Highlights of an Iconic Competition I FWT24 Georgia Pro

The FWT by Peak Performance season went into overdrive today, with the first FWT Pro event in Georgia completed in picture-perfect conditions. It was the last stop before the FWT Finals, meaning titles – and careers – were on the line.

Khakhiani – or კახიანი in Georgian – was the chosen venue, which was caked in dry, fluffy snow from the top to the finish line, offering up pristine conditions for the world’s best freeriders. With bountiful creative options – mixed with a complex web of features – athletes were enticed to go big… which they did.

Jonathan Penfield kept his consistent season alive with a fluid line to take the win. He aired into the approach of the Hoisl cliff, before taking a cross-court transfer at high speed. Jonathan then packed the lower section with clean airs and rode out to victory.
