The whole weekend at Tampa Pro hits hard, but Sunday’s always a day like nothing else. Here’s a recap of Sunday’s Semifinals & Finals.

Jake Ilardi has come a long way since first stepping foot at Dew Tour in 2019 in Long Beach, California. From that time, Jake has gone pro for Blind Skateboards, earned his way onto the 2021 USA National Skateboard Team, and qualified to compete at skateboarding’s inaugural debut at the Tokyo Summer Games. Just before taking the flight to Japan for The Big Games, we sat down with the Floridian to get a closer look at his skateboard gear. Behind The Scenes: 2021 RED BULL PARIS CONQUEST

The challenge of live broadcasting is that we can only show you the business-end of what are usually a full few days of drama, entertainment and other skateboarding-related tomfoolery.

Some people rip in practice, but get unlucky in their runs. Some put down a single ridiculous hammer out of nowhere as soon as they turn up, but get taken out by a heel bruise, or somebody else’s board, straight after: that’s just the nature of the skating game. Friendships- and even the occasional rivalry- are rekindled, and new shared experiences become permanent memories of peak times. Red Bull Paris Conquest was no exception.

Taking place as the contest did slap-bang in the middle of Paris during late August 2021, there were side-missions and culture- sampling galore, as well as some insane practice sessions on the unique street course which replicated a half-dozen or so of Paris’ most famous contributions to skateable urban architecture.

Olympic Skateboarding And What It Means | World Skate SB

With only a few more days until skateboarding makes it official debut at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, we wanted to share the thoughts about this monumental event from a select few competitors that were headed to the big show. Featuring Bryce Wettstein (USA), Vincent Milou (FRA), Margielyn Arda Didal (PHI), Sky Brown (GBR), Andy Anderson (CAN), Leticia Bufoni (BRA), Lizzie Armanto (FIN), Felipe Gustavo (BRA), Roos Zwetsloot (NED), Mariah Duran (USA), Manny Santiago (PUR), and Nyjah Huston (USA).

First-Ever Olympic Skateboarding Team Announcement Presented by Toyota, June 21, 2021

Together with Toyota and sponsors Nike SB, Tech Deck, Jessup Griptape and ProTec Helmets, USA Skateboarding—the U.S. governing body for skateboarding—announced the 12 members who will represent Team USA for the inaugural Olympic Skateboarding team. This historic event was announced today in downtown Los Angeles, California - home to many on the Olympic team and the birthplace of skateboarding.

“I’m honored to introduce the first-ever American Olympic Skateboarding team today on Go Skateboarding Day,” said Josh Friedberg, CEO USA Skateboarding. “Skateboarders know what makes our culture special, and we couldn’t ask for a better group of talented athletes to share that with the world during skateboarding’s Olympic debut this summer in Tokyo.”
