Boardmasters Open 2024 | Day One Highlights

The first day of the Boardmasters Open saw a long day of surfing down at Fistral beach with strong conditions with a solid 4-6 foot swell.

We kicked things off with the Men's BYD Pro with great performances from the British contingency with 8 British surfers progressing including Lukas Skinner and Patrick Langdon-Dark.

With the best conditions of the day, the Women's BYD Pro followed with the pushing tide and lovely 4 foot glassy waves. Standards were high making full use of the conditions with Tya Zebrowski (current under 16 European Champion) taking the highest score of the day.

The pinnacle of Pro Junior competition gave way to fireworks all week long in Oceanside, California, with Sierra Kerr and Jett Schilling claiming maiden World Junior Titles amid world-class fields and will join the 2024 Challenger Series. Runner-up finishes for Jackson Bunch and Zoe Benedetto reinforce them as threats to watch in 2024 with a massive year ahead.
