The spectacular rail battle offered a unique urban and progressive setup with various rails and features which got dismantled by the riders in mere minutes! Men and women showcased their skill to an incredible audience, from the creativity of Joe Simpson to the technically of Benny Milan and the dialed riding of Anna Gasser. Snowfest Innsbruck - Rock a Rail 2022 ROCK A RAIL SNOWBOARD CONTEST - For the 70 snowboarders, the picturesque scenery directly between the Tyrolean State Theater and the time-honored Hofburg was an absolute novelty. The ramp, which is 37 meters long, 12.5 meters wide and two stories high, offered a unique setup with various rails and features. The riders pushed each other, pulled even crazier tricks and put on an incredible show for the enthralled crowd. You're more likely to meet Anna Gasser on the big jumps and slopestyle course than at rail events. The double Olympic champion played all her routine on Saturday and won the women's title with a lot of style: "I'm really happy that we have another contest in Innsbruck. I'm not really the rail driver, but it was great fun with the girls. They all drove really well. Hopefully more in the future!” Benny Milam (USA) won the last Rock A Rail in The Hague (2019) and now continued his winning streak here in Innsbruck. // ROCK A RAIL SNOWBOARD CONTEST - Für die 70 Snowboarder war die pittoreske Kulisse direkt zwischen dem Tiroler Landestheater und der altehrwürdigen Hofburg ein absolutes Novum. Die 37 Meter lange, 12,5 Meter breite und zwei Stockwerke hohe Rampe bot ein einzigartiges Setup mit verschiedenen Rails und Features. Die Rider pushten sich gegenseitig, zeigten immer noch verrücktere Tricks und lieferten eine unglaubliche Show für das begeisterte Publikum. Anna Gasser trifft man eigentlich eher auf den großen Jumps und im Slopestyle Kurs als bei Rail-Events. Die Doppelolympiasiegerin spielte am Samstag all ihre Routine aus und holte sich mit viel Style verdient den Titel bei den Frauen: „Ich freu mich riesig, dass wir wieder einen Contest in Innsbruck haben. Ich bin eigentlich nicht so die Rail-Fahrerin, aber es hat total Spaß gemacht mit den Mädels. Es sind alle richtig gut gefahren. Hoffentlich in Zukunft mehr!“ Benny Milam (USA) gewann den letzten Rock A Rail in Den Haag (2019) und setzte nun hier in Innsbruck seine Siegesserie fort.

Snowboarding on a Frozen Lake with Benny Milam and Friends | Lakehouse "I think that snowboarders and fisherman are same in the fact that we're always trying to go BIGGER." - Tony Capra On a frozen Minnesotan lake typically reserved for ice-fisherman like the featured Tony Capra, Benny Milam and four friends (Garrett Mckenzie, Sam Schiltgen, Lenny Mazzotti, and Drayden Gardner) spent several days sessioning a first-of-its kind snowboarding feature: an ice-fishing house complete with moveable rails and a gas-powered winch. As the wind whipped across the lake, the riders kept themselves warm; not by finding refuge inside the lakehouse, but by riding the features and stacking clips outside of it.
