Nuestra Cultura Al Mundo At the end of last year, we sent one of our correspondents to Puerto Rico to skate, shoot photos, and get to know two of PR's finest: Diego Najera and Jenn Soto, at adidas' 'Nuestra Cultura Al Mundo', a platform honoring Hispanic and Latino/a/e voices shaping sport, culture, and community. Through storytelling and community activations the initiative celebrates culture as a living legacy, creates spaces for meaningful connection, and fosters partnerships with creators, athletes, and cultural leaders. This short film accompaniment explores and honors the culture while diving even further into the lives and skating of Najera and Soto. Thanks, Adidas!

Weekender feat. Ryan Townley and Kevin Shapiro Three days, three boards, one beautiful city. For those who live for the long weekend, we present the mission many have dreamed of but few have attempted. Three boards in three days - snow, surf, and skate - from Mt. Hood to the Oregon sea, Ryan Townley and Kevin Shapiro make a sprint over a three-day weekend to hit the slopes, go bank to bank, and get barrelled. Can they do that which has never been done? Conseptual: Ryan Townley How many times have you sat on hold or bored at your barista job and used your fingers to skate the edge of the counter in front of you? Or sat in class finger skating your textbook and thinking, ‘fuck, this would be a perfect ledge if it were me-sized’? How many times has Ryan Townley finished coating a collage in resin and thought, ‘shit, me, Ryan Townley, artist and professional skateboarder, would really like to skate this thing if only it were a thousand times larger,’? We have no idea, but we assume it’s a lot. In Conseptual, an art and skateboarding partnership between Monster Children and Cons, Townley may be the first and only skater to feel that satisfaction. 'Skate Art' is historically full of metaphors and abstractions and ‘oh hey yeah a bench made out of a deck… alright then... cool’, and that's all well and good, but we are literal people here, and by literally upscaling one of Townley’s resin-coated collages into a three-dimensional, transformable, skateable sculpture, we apply the versatility of Townley’s skateboarding to his art, and apply the featured terrains of his art to his skateboarding. Conseptual is the collision of art and skateboarding in the realest way, simultaneously a work of art and a Philly step; a sculpture to be admired and a pyramid to be ollied over.
