About:

Phillip Island Junior Pro will bring together the best U18, U16 and U14 junior surfers from around the country.

Event guide:

The event will be ranked as one of only 4 Marquee Junior events (10,000 points) in the country on the Surfing Australia National Junior Rankings. The overall junior champion on the rankings will earn a spot in the Australian Team competing at the ISA World Junior Championships. The 4 day event will be held on Phillip Island with the primary location of Cape Woolamai.

Secondary locations include Penguin Parade, Smiths Beach, Right Point and Surfies Point.

NOTE: All entrants must be a financial member of their home state. International competitors must become a CORE member of Surfing Victoria.

U18 Boys (Rd of 32)
U18 Girls (Rd of 32)
U16 Boys (Rd of 32)
U16 Girls (Rd of 32)
U14 Boys (Rd of 32)
U14 Girls (Rd of 32)

Entry Cost: $132

Note: Competitors must be under the specified age as of 31 December in the year of competition (2023)

Entry Process:

Entries will open on Tuesday 20th June at 9am and close on Wednesday 19th July at 9am. All entries will be placed on a waitlist and allocated entry based on the below process.

Step 1 - The top 20 competitors on the current National Junior Rankings (as at 19/07/2023) who are entered on the waitlist will be guaranteed entry into the event.

Step 2 - Surfing NSW, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and WA will receive 1x wildcard per division to allocate to their current State Title holder.

Step 3 - Surfing Victoria will allocate 6 wildcards per division to be selected via the Surfing Victoria Technical Committee (for U18 - 2x wildcards will allocated to the winner and runner up of the Australian Indigenous Titles)

Step 4 - Any unfilled allocations will be distributed in order of entry on the event waitlist.

Once the above entry process has been concluded, the draw will be seeded based on the National Junior Rankings as at 19/07/2023.

Note: Any unfilled allocations revert to Surfing Victoria wildcards.
