The USASA Mt Hood Series began in the early 2000’s. Events include rail jams, boardercross/skiercross, halfpipe and slopestyle. At least 10 National Champions have come from the Mt Hood Series since it began.
Michael FitzSimons became the series director for the Mt. Hood Series in 2015, starting with USASA in 2009 as a competitor. Mike has two boys ages 15 and 17, who have competed in USASA since 2009. His wife has also competed in USASA and all four family members have competed at USASA Nationals. After Mike started with USASA he began coaching , attained a Level 200 coach certificate and in additon is a certified USASA judge.


The Mt Hood Series is a fun family focused series. Many tight and long lasting friendships have developed within the Mt Hood Series. The emphasis in each Mt Hood event is to have fun, improve and develop a life long passion for snow sports. Most of the series competitors come from the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area, but it not unusual to have competitors from Bend, Seattle. the tri cities and Spokane.
