2026 Gold Coast Open Highlights The 2026 Gold Coast Open ran at Burleigh Heads from 18-22 February 2026. Elevated to a WSL QS 4000, the event delivered five full days of world-class surfing and give athletes a massive chance to secure critical points toward the 2026 Challenger Series. The event also featured a live broadcast, showcasing Burleigh’s iconic point break to fans across Australia and around the world! Surfing Queensland Rookie to Ripper A New Pathway for Junior Surf Development in Queensland Surfing Queensland is proud to launch the inaugural Rookie to Ripper program, a grassroots initiative designed to support and develop young surfers across the state. A total of 23 boardrider clubs across Queensland will participate in the program. Each club will deliver 12 training sessions as part of the initiative, specifically designed for junior boardrider club members. Sessions will take place from August 2025 through to February 2026.
