Mammoth Opening Day 2016 with Volcom Snow

Nothing like cleaning out the cobwebs and starting another season of snowboarding under the sunny California sky! Mammoth Mountain delivered yet again another fun and event filled opening weekend to the 2016/17 season. Although every snowboarder wishes for the “epic” waist deep powday to start the year off, Arthur Longo shows us that simply shredding around the mountain with friends is all that is needed to get the stoke fired up again. It’s time, get in the van and don’t get left behind!

Three Days With Hairy Scalps in Les 2 Alpes

If you’ve never been to Les Deux Alpes, then shame on you.. There’s NO BETTER PLACE to ride in Europe in Summer. Sure, Saas Fee gets good, and so does Zermatt. But in terms of multitude of park features, vertical drop, half pipe(s) and last but not least, aprés-riding activities down in the village, no other resort even comes close. Skating (several parks), swimming and perving on chicks at the pool or one of many nearby lakes, downhill cycling, trampolines, hitting the bars, or doing 101 other sports I won’t even start listing here, Les 2 Alpes truly has it all. It is the most complete summer riding resort in Europe. Period.. If in doubt of what to do or what’s going on, stopping by the Volcom store is always a smart move. Local legend and shop manager Yannick Amevet, of infinite Absinthe Films fame, is always up to date on what’s going on, where the cheapest beer is to be had, which girl NOT to perv on and mucho more. And he is happy to share his knowledge with you. So do swing by.

VOLCOM BANKED SLALOM KITZSTEINHORN 2016

The 3rd edition of the Volcom banked slalom at Kitzsteinhorn was another one to put in the books!
It all started with a good snow dump before the weekend that made shapers shovel extra hard, but also stoked out some early arrival competitors with some powder turns. It continued with two consecutive days of sunshine, allowing everyone to shred the snowparks in between race runs with the best conditions you could get. This year’s course was again just over 1min, so legs, hearts and breath were reasonably tested, but depending on your finish time your ego could be severely tested, especially if you’re a seasoned guide from Chamonix or a quad-corking park ripper and you get beaten by a 17 years old girl, which can happen in this kind of event.
Some legends and pros were on the start list along with locals, speed freaks from all over Europe and snowboarding enthusiasts which made for a great mix of people and a great weekend!
