Behind The Scenes: 2021 RED BULL PARIS CONQUEST The challenge of live broadcasting is that we can only show you the business-end of what are usually a full few days of drama, entertainment and other skateboarding-related tomfoolery. Some people rip in practice, but get unlucky in their runs. Some put down a single ridiculous hammer out of nowhere as soon as they turn up, but get taken out by a heel bruise, or somebody else’s board, straight after: that’s just the nature of the skating game. Friendships- and even the occasional rivalry- are rekindled, and new shared experiences become permanent memories of peak times. Red Bull Paris Conquest was no exception. Taking place as the contest did slap-bang in the middle of Paris during late August 2021, there were side-missions and culture- sampling galore, as well as some insane practice sessions on the unique street course which replicated a half-dozen or so of Paris’ most famous contributions to skateable urban architecture. Enjoy our deep dive into the first big, global post-Olympics skate contest, as we bring you behind the scenes of Red Bull Paris Conquest!

Thank You Skateboard GB Team! The time is upon us; the Tokyo 2020 Olympics starts today, and this will be the first time skateboarding is included in the games. We want to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you to the Skateboard GB team and all of the skateboarders who represented Great Britain over the last three years. It takes great courage, dedication and effort to compete at an international level, and for that, we can’t thank you enough. Skateboarders qualify for the Olympic Games by competing at World Skate qualification events. The top twenty ranked skateboarders (in each discipline) book themselves a place in Tokyo. Each country is allowed 3 athletes per gender, per event. For example, USA may have 7 skaters in the top 20, but only the first 3 would qualify. We then display this as a 'Clean List' rank. Both Sky Brown qualified in 3rd position and Bombette Martin in 19th (on a clean list) and will compete for @TeamGB in Tokyo. Alex Hallford placed in 35th / 23rd clean Alex Decunha placed in 34th / 23rd clean Jordan Thackeray placed in 80th / 62nd clean Sam Beckett placed in 83rd / 64th clean Thank you again. You did Skateboard GB proud! Alex Decunha Alex Hallford Jordan Thackeray Sam Beckett Sky Brown Bombette Martin George Poole Clive Dickson Joe Hinson Aaron Jago Paul Luc Ronchetti Roxanna Howlett Aimy Brady Jordan Sharkey Helena Long Lola Tambling
