Successful FIS-level slopestyle competitions take place in Switzerland and Spain

While we enter an extended wait for the next FIS World Cup competitions of the Park & Pipe and Freeski seasons, it's encouraging to see some FIS-level competitions taking place - or on track to take place - at sites around Europe as the winter picks up momentum.

Two successful slopestyle events have gone down in recent weeks in Switzerland and Spain, with the Glacier 3000 playing host in wester Switzerland this past week, and Madrid's Snowzone indoor facility holding back-to-back events at the start of November.

The Glacier 3000 events are especially of note as a number of World Cup regulars dropped in on both the snowboard and freeski side of things, with the likes of Isabel Derungs (SUI) and Noah Vicktor (GER) taking the wins in the snowboard competition, and Valetin Morel (SUI) winning the men's freeski event. Young up-and-comer Muriel Mohr (GER) was the winner of the women's freeski.

The snowboard competition there in Glacier 3000 served as the kick-off for the 2020/21 Audi Snowboard Series season, while the freeski event was the opener for the Swiss Freeski Tour.
