<div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Anat Lelior </strong>(WRL) and<strong> Guilherme Ribeiro</strong> (POR) have won the World Surf League (WSL) <a href="https://www.worldsurfleague.com/events/2025/qs/454/abanca-pantin-classic-galicia-pro/main" target="_blank">ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro</a> Qualifying Series (QS) 4,000 in four-to-six-foot surf, after overcoming a strong competitive field and rising above the challenging conditions all week long. Stop No. 3 of the 2025/2026 Europe QS season tested the competitors mentally and physically, and Finals Day saw the women finalists battling through four rounds, while the men had to surf three rounds to get the job done.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Anat Lelior Wins Second QS Title This Year</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Making it two out of two this season, <strong>Anat Lelior</strong> (WRL) earned her second QS title today, taking out the iconic Pantin Classic. Lelior won her first-ever QS at the season opener in Lacanau, but did not compete at the second stop in Cornwall. She looked comfortable in the bigger conditions and put on a great display of backhand surfing to earn a massive win. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">“It’s amazing,” said Lelior. “I’ve been looking at the sweatshirts and merch of Pantin for years, and to finally have my name added to the sweatshirts is amazing. This win is for so many people other than myself. I’m dedicating this win to my sister, it was her birthday yesterday, and she deserves this one thing. We were all a bit stressed about this event, but in the end we all pulled it off, and it was a beautiful event just like always.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In the Final, Lelior quickly got to work and built a total of 12.94 (out of a possible 20) within the first five minutes of the heat, leaving the rest of her competitors to play catch up. Lelior improved her score on a great wave, combining her vertical backhand turns and fast snaps for a 7.13 (out of a possible 10) to create a bigger gap between herself and <strong>Maria Salgado</strong> (POR) in second place. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Salgado had an impressive day, and this runner-up finish is a personal best that only shows the start of a promising career. The 18-year-old managed to hold off a late attack from <strong>Teresa Bonvalot</strong> (POR) in the Semifinals to secure her first-ever Finals appearance.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Annette Gonzalez Etxabarri</strong> (EUK) locked in a consecutive Finals showing after she won the previous competition, the Boardmasters Pro in Cornwall, England. Etaxbarri has enjoyed a stellar season so far, but her wave selection in the Final in Pantin let her down, and she had to settle for third place, with<strong> Lucia Machado </strong>(CNY) placing fourth. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Guilherme Ribeiro Back On The Podium, First Win Since 2022</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Pantin caused quite a shuffle on the men’s QS rankings, with the top seeds suffering early elimination, but it opened the door for so-called underdogs to get their time to shine. Coming into this event ranked 41st, <strong>Guilherme Ribeiro </strong>(POR) was in rhythm with the powerful swell on Finals Day and surfed his way back onto the podium for the first time since 2022. Ribeiro also jumped up to No. 1 on the regional QS rankings.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">“It’s crazy, I haven’t won since the Lacanau Pro in 2022,” said Ribeiro. “It’s only my second QS win. I almost lost in my first heat, but then I remembered that Afonso Antunes, last year’s winner, also nearly lost in his first heat. I just believed in myself, believed in my surfing and the work that I’ve been doing. It’s crazy how life is a cycle and when things don’t go well, you just have to believe and keep working and that’s what I did.”</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It was an entertaining men’s Final, featuring Ribeiro, <strong>Ido Hagag</strong> (WRL), <strong>Tristan Guilbaud</strong> (FRA) and <strong>Frederico Morais</strong> (POR). Hagag took the lead with a 7.50 (out of a possible 10) for his fast and sharp surfing, and backed it up with a mid-range score. Ribeiro got to work, cranking out his powerful turns to take the lead from Hagag. A last minute exchange between the competitors left everyone waiting anxiously for the results, but in the end, Ribeiro’s total of 12.94 (out of a possible 20) was enough to secure him the win.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">“These were tough conditions, but honestly, I love it. I love difficult conditions, I was born like this, and my dad taught me this, to go out there when it’s big and when it’s bad. Thanks to him, thanks to my team, I’m here as the winner of Pantin!”</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Next up on the European calendar is the Wild Atlantic Way Junior Qualifying Series in Bundoran, Ireland from September 4-7, while the Challenger Series surfers will head to Portugal for the EDP Ericeira Pro from September 29 to October 5, 2025.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">For more information, please visit <a href="https://www.worldsurfleague.com/" target="_blank">WorldSurfLeague.com</a>. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Catch Up On All The Action From Pantin</strong></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The ABANCA Pantin Classic Galicia Pro was scheduled from August 26 - 31, 2025 at Playa de Pantin, Galicia / Spain.
