Description: “PENTACOASTAL” was inspired by the tonalities of Australian cult cinema. Directors Wade Goodall & Shane Fletcher have merged these filmic elements within the body of a surf film through emotive animations, an undulating soundscape, and a subliminal narrative which follows a quasi-recursive map depicted by a pentagram drawn on the map of Australia. “A recollection of Australasian exploration following a quasi-recursive map, with elemental moments of expressive wave worship.”

Who Landed The Biggest Air In The Best Surf Film Of The Year?| Pentacoastal B-Sides If Pentacoastal isn’t your favorite surf film from this year, you should find a new optician. Wade Goodall and Shane Fletcher crafted one of the most taint-tingling surf flicks I’ve seen in a minute. Luckily, our boy Danny J has been kind enough to break the film into 3 segments, so our feeble minds can digest it in small doses. This is due to the fact that watching it all at once may be overstimulating for some viewers, plus most of us only get 15-minute lunch breaks. Video: Wade Goodall/Shane Fletcher

Our Fav Sections From Pentacoastal Pentacoastal dropped in May, yet its relevance has persisted into the depths of 2020. One could say this is due to a large lack of surf content as a result of stringent travel bans, but that’s simply not the case. While difficult, plenty of surfers found means to travel whilst adhering to social distancing and quarantine guidelines, taking boat trips to the Mentawais and many a Brazilian enjoying aquatic Maldivian delights. Wade and Shane's Pentacoastal has remained relevant due to the sheer quality of their film. See above for proof. Video: Danny Johnson and Shane Fletcher
