An afternoon at Rincon with Frankie Seely | SESSIONS Welcome to SESSIONS, our new series, made for surfers by surfers....It's just surfing...That's it. For our first installment, we caught up with Frankie Seely on a sunny afternoon at a "secret" spot along the California coastline to log some time on her new board from Oceanside shaper Michael Takayama. A consummate Malibu local, Seely has been surfing First Point since her dad took her out at the age of two. At 13, she began surfing competitively, and since then has expanded into a multi-hyphenate artist, surfer, editor and businessperson. Though Seely may be most at home in Los Angeles County, this session took her a little farther North, to Rincon. She danced across the kind of waves that only The Queen of the Coast could deliver. HOMETOWN HYPE: HALEIWA - Surfing’s final boss Oahu’s North Shore may be the most documented place in all of surfing. There’s Pipeline, of course, quite possibly the single most important wave in the sport, but all along the Seven Mile Miracle are world-class breaks, and a rich community centered around them.
