Welcome to The North Face Frontier, a premier freeride skiing and snowboarding event held at The Remarkables Ski Field in Queenstown, New Zealand. The competition includes both 2* and 4* Freeride World Tour Qualifier, offering a key opportunity for emerging athletes aiming to progress to the Freeride World Tour.

Event guide:

The FWT Qualifier 4* event is held in Alta Chutes at The Remarkables Ski Area, Home of Freeride. 60 ski and snowboard athletes from around the globe will be selected top compete, based on their FWT points.

The event is scheduled on the best weather day between 23rd - 28th August 2025. Pre events and the After Party, held on the night of the 4* competition, will be based from Wānaka, so if you’re looking to book accomodation then have a look at options there.

Spectators are welcome to join us on Lake Alta for finish line festivities filled with BBQ, beats, and beanbags. Snowshoe/ ski touring/ hiking options available to get to the finish line or there is lift access as long as you have a valid lift pass and the ability to off-piste to get there.
