This Is Exposure Skate: Compassion Through Service and the Growth of Women’s Skateboarding Dedicated to empowering women, girls and nonbinary individuals through skateboarding, Exposure Skate is building a true community, and the 2025 event brought people from around the world to continue the mission in full effect. “At its core, Exposure has always been about the love of skateboarding,” says Exposure Skate president and founder, pro skateboarder and Olympian Amelia Brodka. Starting with just 34 skaters at the first event in 2012, see how Exposure Skate has grown in its 14th edition to host 200 girls from 21 countries. Learn the origin story and hear about the Exposure Skate journey from Amelia, the person who truly breathed life into the community. Professional skaters Nora Vasconcellos, Lizzie Armanto, Vanessa Torres and Steve Caballero each join the conversation, sharing how the Exposure Skate scene has made a positive impact on their lives and their communities at large. You’ll also meet Jess Robledo, the program director and Amelia’s general partner in all things nonprofit and community.
