Ryan Sheckler - Sandlot Times - Skate for a Cause Tour (Stops 5-10) - Episode Seven Last year, we hit the road with the Sheckler Foundation for the first-ever nationwide #Skateforacausetour with ten stops and ten $10,000 grants for the foundation’s recipients. On this episode, join us as we round out the tour with stops five through ten. From Minniapolis, South Dakota, Nebraska, Houston, NOLA, Tampa, Miami to Tennessee. Ryan Sheckler - Sandlot Times - Parisite Skatepark Drop-In - Episode Six In 2016, Professional skateboarder, Ryan Sheckler and the Sheckler Foundation joined COPING MECHANISM at Parisite DIY Skatepark to celebrate the expansion of the first public skatepark in New Orleans’ history. It took two years for legalization, but Parisite DIY Skatepark is New Orleans’ first public skatepark – designed, built and run by skateboarders. In 2016, Parisite DIY Skatepark was ready for its next build but needed help with a crucial part of the skatepark: the coping. As the Sheckler Foundation’s 7th “Be the Change” beneficiary, Ryan Sheckler presented Parisite DIY Skatepark with support and a $10,000 financial grant to help implement quality steel coping and other metal work to create a public skatepark in New Orleans that will last decades. Three years later in 2019, Ryan Sheckler, the Sheckler Foundation team and skateBOARD members Fabrizio Santos, Oscar Loreto Jr. and David Reyes, dropped by to hang and skate with the locals along their journey during the Skate for a Cause nationwide tour.
