The final day of the Subway® Surf Series Pro Junior saw an amazing day of action with Ethan Ewing (Point Lookout, Qld) being crowned the 2016 World Surf League (WSL) Australasian Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) Champion and Macy Callaghan (Avoca, NSW) and Harley Ross-Webster (Curl Curl, NSW) taking event victories in the punchy-two foot waves at Port Kembla Beach.

Yago Dora and Johanne Defay have taken out the 2017 Maitland and Port Stephens Toyota Pro and Anditi Women’s Pro. The WSL Qualifying Series (QS) 6,000 events run in conjunction with Newcastle Surfest and were completed today in wind affected 3-to-4 foot waves at Merewether Beach.

Adriano de Souza (BRA) has won the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro, the third stop on the Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). Main Break delivered another morning of great conditions and the world’s best surfers battled each other to win the event. An exciting clash saw De Souza claim his fifth CT victory and defeat John John Florence (HAW) in a thrilling Final.

Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) wins the fifth stop on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT), the Fiji Women’s Pro, in challenging and sizable surf. Fitzgibbons defeated Bianca Buitendag (ZAF) in the Final after a day of big upsets which saw the world’s best female surfers battle one another in solid eight-to-10-foot (3 - 3.5 metres) waves at Cloudbreak.

Jeremy Flores (FRA) has won the Billabong Pro Tahiti in the Final bout against reigning WSL Champion Gabriel Medina (BRA) held in six foot surf at Teahupo’o. Stop No. 7 of 11 on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT) has been treated to incredible performances by the world’s best surfers, culminating today with Flores’ win.

Lakey Peterson (USA) and Italo Ferreira (BRA) have taken out the Corona Bali Protected presented by Hurley, Stop No. 5 on the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). The final day saw incredible performances in clean waves at Keramas on Bali’s east coast, allowing the world’s best surfers to put on a show at one of the most high-performance waves on the planet.

SUPERTUBOS, Peniche/Portugal: Mick Fanning (AUS) has won the 2014 Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, defeating Jordy Smith (ZAF) in clean 3-to-5-foot barrels at the iconic Supertubos in Peniche. Fanning’s third event victory this season, after wins at Bells Beach and Jeffreys Bay, moves him up to World No. 2 on the Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour (WCT) rankings.

Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) has claimed victory at the Cascais Women’s Pro after defeating Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) in a hard fought Final. The J-Bay Open, Stop No. 6 on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), has been called off following a dramatic incident that involved three-time WSL Champion and defending event winner Mick Fanning (AUS) being attacked by a shark in the opening minutes of the Final against Julian Wilson (AUS).

The J-Bay Open was called off today during the Final after three-time WSL Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) was attacked by a shark.

HONOLUA BAY, Maui/Hawaii: Carissa Moore (HAW) has won the Target Maui Pro presented by Schick Hydro Silk after defeating Tyler Wright (AUS) in a hard fought Final. The victory marks her third Samsung Galaxy ASP Women's World Championship Tour (WCT) win of the season and sees her become the first surfer from Hawaii to triumph at Honolua Bay.

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) is pleased to announce that in 2015 the ASP will change its name to the World Surf League. In a letter to the surfing community, CEO Paul Speaker explains that the change is happening because the new name will help bring the sport of professional surfing to more fans, athletes and partners worldwide. The ASP will continue to operate under the existing name until the end of 2014 and in January 2015, will begin the season as the World Surf League.
