Japanese Raimu Sasaki & Aoi Ishimaru are the 2021 World Rookie Skateboard Champions!

From the heart of the Alps, Innsbruck, Austria, hosted the 2021 edition of the World Rookie Skateboard Finals and welcomed 70 skateboarders from 17 different nations, pre-selected through a series of 10 WRT qualifying events across the Europe and Japan. * Raimu Sasaki (JPN) wins the title of 2021 World Rookie Skateboard Male Champion & his brother Raimu Sasaki (JPN) is the 2021 World Grom Skateboard Male Champion! * Aoi Ishimaru (JPN) grabs the 2021 World Rookie Skateboard Female Champion title & Liv Broder (SUI) earns the tile of 2021 World Grom Skateboard Female Champion * Relive the finals - watch the replay of live broadcast on YouTube that was with pleasure delivered by the Boardriding.com team * Don't miss the links to the full photo-gallery and Ranking, and check out the highlights video!

In the unique environment of the WRT events, the WRT Sk8 Finals offered a 3 days program in the beautiful city of Innsbruck, Austria, including city tour, street sessions, art experience, safe sex workshops, and, of course, a high-level international skateboarding competition in the amazing Skatehalle, the huge indoor skatepark facility in the Tirol Capital City.

Raimu Sasaki from Japan resulted in the best skateboarder in the comp field and won the title of 2021 World Rookie Champion. Raimu showcased consistent runs and a huge portfolio of solid tricks such as switch fs 270 to fs feeble, to bs smith, and to fs bluntslide to fakie on the handrail. Raimu was awarded an invitation to iconic events Simple Session in Tallin and Mystic Sk8 Cup in Prague. Swiss Noel Scharer conquered 2nd place in the rookies and local hero Santino Exenberger from Austria got 3rd.

Japanese Toa Sasaki (Raimu's brother) was the best in the Grom Category and conquered the title of 2021 World Grom Champion with tons of technical tricks including bs noseblunt slide, kickflip bs lipslide, and kickflip to fs boardslide on the handrail. Andres Fusconi Ravaglia from Italy resulted in 2nd in the male grom category and Rocco Muller from Switzerland 3rd.

In the girl comp, Japanese Aoi Ishimaru was the best in the rookie category and won the 2021 World Rookie Champion title with Caballerial on the Hip, feeble grind on the straight rail, and fakie 50-50 on the small Hubba. Liv Broder from Switzerland was not only the best in the female grom category but also the most ranked girl of the event with feeble grind and fs boardslide on the handrail, fs feeble grind on the small downrail, and many other perfectly executed tricks. Liv was awarded the title of 2021 World Grom Champion and a ticket to the Mystic Sk8 Cup in Prague.

All the skaters on the podium received prizes from our partners Blu-Tomato, TSG, and Jail Jam, and all the 2021 Champions, male and female, rookie and grom, will be also invited to a special experience by Red Bull Skateboarding to be soon announced.

The 2021 WRT SK8 Finals, hosted in conjunction with the Best Foot Foward Finals by Blue-Tomato, defines the conclusion of the 2021 World Rookie Skateboarding Ranking, which featured all the WRT and BFF events and some more partner events, and registered almost 500 skaters from 22 nations. ABOUT THE WORLD ROOKIE TOUR
The World Rookie Tour is organized by the Black Yeti ssrl in collaboration with World Snowboard Federation, National Snowboard, Ski and Skateboard Associations and selected action sport agencies. It was born in 2005 as a series of youth snowboard event and it consists now of a selection of high quality International events for snowboard, freeski and skateboard, the so called “Rookie Fests”, reserved for riders under 18’s only, in Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia. The World Rookie Tour consists not only of competitions: it also features loads of other activities to help rookies to grow in the field of professional action sports, such as photo & video shootings, avalanche and rescue clinics, meetings with photographers and international team managers, parties and English talks. Since year zero, it awards tickets to world-class events such as X Games Norway, Audi Nines, The Arctic Challenge, The Air & Style, The World Snowboarding Championships, Red Bull Roller Coaster, Simple Session, Mystic Sk8 Cup, invitations to professional photo & video shootings, and shooting trip all around the world. Every year the tour crowns the World Rookie Champions at the end of season, during the World Rookie Finals, a unique event format where the best youngsters from almost 30 countries compete and have fun. ABOUT BLACK YETI ssd
The Black Yeti is an amateur sport club dedicated to the realization of snowboard, freeski and skateboard projects for boys and girls up to 18 years of age, in Italy and abroad. One of the most successful project is the World Rookie Tour, the biggest and the most famous tour in the action sports world that attracts 2.000 young athletes from 30 nations to the events called “Rookie Fest”, organized all over the world: Italy, Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia.
