Deivid Silva (BRA) was crowned as the winner of the 2019 Ballito Pro pres by O’Neill after convincingly defeating Jack Freestone (AUS) in the final of the 51st edition of the world’s longest running professional surfing event on Sunday.

Filipe Toledo (BRA) and Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) won the Oi Rio Pro, Stop No. 5 on the 2019 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). The beach came alive throughout the Oi Rio Pro with thousands of fans each day, including today’s Final at Barrinha in four-to-six foot (1.2 - 1.8 meter) waves. Fitzgibbons and Toledo surfed a full day from the Quarterfinals to the Final, resulting in their third CT victories in Brasil.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is thrilled to announce the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) surfers that have been nominated to represent their National Surfing Teams at the 2019 ISA World Surfing Games (WSG) in Miyazaki, Japan September 7-15.

Australia’s Sally Fitzgibbons will look to defend her World Surfing Games Gold in 2019.

Today Lakey Peterson (USA) and John John Florence (HAW) won the Margaret River Pro, the fourth stop on the 2019 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), in six-to-eight foot (1.8 - 2.4 metre) waves at Main Break. Florence earned his second event title after defeating good friend Kolohe Andino (USA) in the Final, while Peterson clinched her first win in the West by taking down Tatiana Weston-Webb (BRA).

Today, Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) and Kanoa Igarashi (JPN) won the Corona Bali Protected, the third stop on the 2019 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT). Hosted at Keramas, one of the world’s most high-performance waves, the Final Series concluded in the best conditions of the event’s holding period with clean six-to-eight foot (1.8 - 2.4 metre) waves on offer. Gilmore charged through the pumping surf to take her 30th CT victory, while Japan’s Igarashi captured his first.

The world’s best longboarders are set to gather in Biarritz, France for the 2019 ISA World Longboard Surfing Championship (WLSC) May 26 – June 2.

Since surfing was first practiced on the beach in 1957, Côte des Basques has become an iconic wave for longboarding.

Jack Freestone (AUS) won the Red Bull Airborne Bali, a World Surf League (WSL) specialty event that highlights aerial surfing. Freestone, 27, flew through the Qualifiers and Final in three-to-four foot (1 - 1.2 metre) waves at Keramas, a break adored by the air specialists due to the mega ramps offered by the wave.

The International Surfing Association (ISA) is proud to announce the opening of the 2019 ISA Scholarship Program, which is aimed at supporting under-served youth with their academic and surfing ambitions, while boosting the development and growth of the sport in non-traditional surfing regions around the world.

Fiji's Kiesha Wakeham received an ISA Scholarship in 2017 and went on to represent her nation at the 2018 VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Huntington Beach, USA.

The 2019 World Surf League (WSL) Big Wave Awards (BWA) nominees are officially locked in. Top honors will be awarded across eight categories: Ride of the Year, Women’s XXL Biggest Wave, Men’s XXL Biggest Wave, Women’s Biggest Paddle, Men’s Biggest Paddle, Wipeout of the Year, Men’s Best Overall Performance of the Year, and Hydro Flask Women’s Best Overall Performance of the Year.
