The good news is this boardsport is super easy to practise on your own… AND you can practise pretty much anywhere! But, there ARE people and programs out there if you want some guidance and are prepared to stump up the dosh. To find someone good near you, check out our database and read the reviews! If you just wanna learn by going-it-alone, then here’s one thing: As a beginner see what the vibe is at your local skatepark. Most are really friendly, some are a bit rougher… but whatever it’s like you’re going to get the odd skater who’s had it with beginners that day, and blasts you an earful. You might not be bothered, but try & get a bit of experience first so you can blend in a bit more – alright, so you’re not gonna be riding the ramps & grinding rails straight away, but at least you won’t be flailing around like an octopus on wheels and falling 17 times a minute (instructor needed?!).
