Soleil Errico, Taylor Jensen Deliver California Sweep At Bells Beach - The GWM Catch Up Finals Day Bells Beach delivered Finals Day beauty with Soleil Errico and Taylor Jensen jumping ahead of the pack for the 2024 World Title race in winning fashion. Errico kicked off her hunt for a historic fourth World Title with back-to-back Bells Beach wins, taking down Natsumi Taoka, in dominant form. Jensen joins Errico in the search for a history-making fourth World title of his own after a nail-biting battle with Longboard Tour sophomore John Michael Van Hohenstein. Stunning showings from former World Champs Kai Sallas, Honolua Blomfield, and more showed that this year’s run to become a WSL Longboard Champion will be no easy task. Patience Proves The Wiser, First Quarterfinalists Emerge To Set Up Finals Day - The Catch Up Day 3 Compatriots clash alongside premier duals to set up the first Finals Day for the world’s best longboarders. Declan Wyton and Kai Ellice-Flint put on an absolute showcase despite deteriorating conditions in an all-Australian bout that Wyton was able to claim after watching a bout of Hawaii’s talents, Kelis Kaleopa’a and Natalia Wunderlich. Kaleopa’a joins former World Champs Kai Sallas, Rachael Tilly, Soleil Errico, and Honolua Blomfield into Finals Day. Emerging threat John Michael Van Hohenstein returned to the spotlight once more as he looks for a major victory alongside perennial World Title threats Kaniela Stewart, Ben Skinner, and more starting in the Quarterfinals. First Eliminations Push Proven Talents To The Test At Bells Beach I The GWM Catch Up Day 2 Elimination scares provided plenty of head-to-head bouts as Bells Beach delivered tricky swell that turned blustery and slow to call competition off midway through the men’s Elimination Round. But, the women made their mark with 2016 WSL Longboard Champion Rachael Tilly leading the charge alongside proven threats Alice Lemoigne and Sophia Culhane as well as newcomers Chloe Coleman and Natalie Wunderlich among more into the Round of 16. Men followed suit with 2023 World Title contenders Ben Skinner and Declan Wyton holding firm alongside Kevin Skvarna and John Michael Van Hohenstein before competition was called off for the day.
