Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic 2025 The Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic 2025 is a wrap! Over the weekend, 48 of the world's best longboarders made the trip back to the desert for the second Surf Abu Dhabi Longboard Classic, for three days of steeze & style, live music and family fun in the UAE capital. Honolua Blomfield and Édouard Delpero took home the wins. Blomfield, just six months after giving birth, put everyone on notice with two 9.80 rides and her sixth career tour win, beating Californian Avalon Gall in the Final. The Basque Country's Édouard Delpero was the standout of the event with an absolute showcase of rail-to-rail surfing, time on the nose and a near-perfect Heat. Delpero sent reigning World Longboard Champion Taylor Jensen to Round 2 and beat defending champ Steven Sawyer in the Final to lock in the World No. 1 seed heading into El Salvador. Over 4,500 people showed up on Hudayriyat Island over the three days. The Surf Village and Surf Club turned it up with fans from around the world, and the kind of all-time vibe fitting for our first anniversary. And as if the energy wasn't already sky high, Donovan & Hendrix Frankenreiter closed out the event with an acoustic set as the sun dropped behind the desert - the kind of send-off a weekend of that caliber calls for. To every surfer who competed, to the crowd that filled the grassy hill and everyone who helped make this happen: thank you! Boardmasters Surf Open | Day 4 at Boardmasters 2025 Longboard semi finalists and QS 2000 finalists were all confirmed on Day 4 of Boardmasters 2025. First to take to the water were the quarters of the LQS, with dominant performances by both last year's winner and runner-up, namely France's Edouard Del Pero and Cornwall's own Ben Skinner. Other standouts included the Reunion Island pair Ophelie Ah Kouen and Alice Lemoigne, as well as Devonian Emily Currie and the Italian teenager Ginger Caimi. For the QS 2000 heats, the high-tide crowd enjoyed a spectacle which included both Basque sisters Annette and Janire Gonzalez-Extabarri posting huge scores, along with former champ and double Olympian Yolanda Hopkins form Portugal. The Olympians continued the charge in the mens too, with Spain's Andy Criere shredding into the final along with compatriot Sean Gunning, where there will no doubt be further fireworks, as awaiting them there is the defending champ Lukas Skinner, who also advanced in blistering form. Finals Day looks set to be another cracker, with great conditions in the forecast.
