Winter 2026: Cardrona opening update Winter slept in by a couple of weeks this year, which meant we didn't get snowmaking underway as early as we'd have liked. So we're taking an extra week to make sure the maunga is ready to welcome you all for another great season. We'll now be opening Saturday 20 June. The good news: temps have dropped, the snow guns are on, and the team is up here getting everything prepped. We're ready, and we’re making Winter 2026 worth waiting for. … and we've got something in the works for opening weekend. Watch this space.
