ASPEN 2021 FIS SNOWBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: SLOPESTYLE & BIG AIR PREVIEW

A hugely exciting set of competitions is set to take to the slopes of Aspen's Buttermilk resort beginning on Wednesday, as the most progressive snowsports athletes on earth will finally get their time to shine when the Aspen 2021 FIS Snowboard and Freeski World Championships get underway this week.

With a roster size of 25 athletes that made for a fierce event loaded with amazing runs. Winning Runs: Red Gerard Wins in Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle Final | Dew Tour Copper 2021

With a field size of 25 men snowboarders in the slopestyle final, and with two runs each, the men had little room for error. It all came down to the last runs to upset the top three podium positions which came down to Mountain Dew rider Red Gerard in first place, Chris Corning in second, and Mark McMorris in third.

IWABUCHI, KLEVELAND AND GASSER BIG WINNERS AT SEASON FINALE IN SILVAPLANA

The final event of the 2020/21 FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe season took to the slopes of a brand-new venue for the world’s best riders, and the slopestyle competition that went down on the unique and exciting course at Silvaplana’s Corvatsch 3303 resort did not disappoint. In the end, Reira Iwabuchi (JPN) and Marcus Kleveland (NOR) would take the wins with standout performances on Sunday, while Kleveland and Anna Gasser (AUT) would end the season as the big winners with double crystal globe finishes.

World Cup slopestyle qualifications are next up here at the Aspen Snowmass Land Rover US Grand Prix, where Chris Corning 🇺🇸 and the rest of the stacked field will be battling it out for a spot in tomorrow’s finals.
The men are starting things off at 10:00 MST (4pm UTC), followed by the women at 13:10 (7.10pm UTC). Links for startlists, livescoring and results by FIS inside the tagged event!

LAAX OPEN 2021: TOP RIDERS @ SNOWBOARD WORLD CUP SEASON STARTER

On 19 January 2021, the freestyle snowboarding professionals will kick off the World Cup circuit in the Slopestyle and Halfpipe disciplines with the LAAX OPEN. It’s the first international contest of the season in a pre-Olympic winter and it’s all about quota spots, snowboarding at the highest level and prestigious titles. In addition, the LAAX OPEN is considered a favourite contest for many riders.
